everyone here has already given you some really awesome ideas!
Memberships to museums?
Since she just bought her home, but you're afraid to buy her anything since she's minimalistic, what about some DIY books for decorating or repairs if the house is older?
A cleaning service so she can free up more time to spend with her son, or to do something she loves?
Vouchers for car cleaning? and air fresheners so she has something to unwrap?

Good Luck! Please tell us what you decide.

I'm a big fan of vouchers to nice restaurants in their area! It's like something they usually don't do for themselves but if you have a voucher it's a forced date night = win!

Food. Chocolates, fresh fruit basket, wine, booze, a tin of homemade cookies or cake for tea, a selection of nice teas, maybe a basket of all of the above.

I agree, an experience gift she can do w her son sounds great. Otherwise, I'd stick to something practical (Gift card or something home related). A relative purchased a fancy humidifier for us and it was definitely not your typical gift but it's been awesome. Plus, I wouldn't necessarily spend so much on one myself

I agree with @yoursilverlining: some kind of experience gift that she could enjoy with her son. Or even something the two of you could do together with your kids.

When I'm really stumped for somebody who doesn't seem to want anything, I do something charity-y - usually a flock of ducklings or something from Plan Canada.

What about taking her out for a nice dinner?

Experience gift for sure! Restaurant gift certificate (or for ordering in), museum membership, movie tickets, tickets to a show, etc. I really wish someone would gift us a science museum family membership, to have a great place to take LO in the winter.

What about an xyz of the month club-fruit, tea, coffee, wine...? If it's consumed, it won't mess with her minimalist feelings! I know I'd prefer it.

How about a bff voucher? She can redeem it any time for an afternoon of shopping, drinks, spa visit, whatever with the two of you, your treat.

I'm completely stumped.

My best friend is the hardest person to buy for ever, because she's just not materialistic at all. She's one of those people who does nothing for herself at all, and is perfectly happy that way.

She has a three year old son and works full time, in a job she hates. She has just bought a new house but she's such a minimalist, I'm scared to buy her anything for the home.

She doesn't really go out anywhere any more (except to the job she detests) so jewelry is out of the question, and she's never been one for beauty treatments. She doesn't read books or listen to music or even watch anything specific on TV. She doesn't enjoy cooking or baking or.... well, I can't think of a single thing she likes, except being with her son.

Previous years, I've done the whole framed picture of us together thing and toiletries have been done to death.

I'm stumped. What am I missing?
