Only a couple of paci replacements and sleeping the rest of the time I still consider sttn. It makes me feel better. Haha.

Lately dd doesn't sttn but she puts herself back to sleep if I put her in our room for the rest of the night.

From the time you put them down, until you get them up in the morning--no wake ups.
DS is almost 10 months and has only STTN like twice based on this!

STTN means I don't get up at night. That might mean that I get up at 6, with her. But not in the middle of the night.

we were happy when ds started doing the 6-8 hour stretches, we didn't consider it STTN until he started doing 11-12, at week 12 (THANK YOU SLEEP GODS). :)

As a baby, yeah, 8-9 hours of solid sleep would be good. But after that, a solid 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep is STTN for me!

LO has been been getting 11-13 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night since she was 10 months old! Yay! (But it was a struggle to get there, don't get me wrong!)

I would consider it sleeping from the time she goes to bed (6:30pm) until a "reasonable" morning hour like 5:30 or 6am.

Not like I'd know anything about that, though...

To me it is not having to get up in the night (before 5;30 am) after putting her down (7:30) o feed, give pacifier, or pick her up to cuddle/comfort.

hmmm good question....technically i think its 6+ hours, but when LO goes to bed at 7 and wakes at 2, i do NOT consider that STTN :) i consider it to be from when i go to bed and not waking til morning (at least 5am)

@Andrea: @autumnlove: Ditto! My dd sleeps 12 hours straight if she doesn't nap. Lately she sleeps 10 hours since she gets a 2 hour nap.

I consider 10-12 hours as sttn!

I consider STTN if she does not wake from when *I* go to bed till a decent morning wake up like 6am!

@Andrea: by your definition LO has never STTN!

@Adira: I've heard the 6 hour rule too. :)

@bunnylove08: Oh, I can NEVER fall back asleep, which sucks, because I have to get up at 5:00 anyway. If he could just sleep ONE MORE HOUR, I'd be sooooo happy. But no, 4:00 a.m. is apparently where it 's at!

My LO sleeps 8 hours but goes to bed at 7 so that means she wakes for a feeding at 3. Not STTN to me, at all. If she slept through until 5, I would consider that STTN.

I read somewhere that STTN might they were asleep between 12:00 and 5:00 a.m., but I read somewhere else that it's 6+ hours, so who knows! If what your DD does is STTN, then I guess Xander does too, but it sure doesn't feel like it when I have to get up at 4:00 a.m.!

For me, it's going without a night waking and waking up at time that is considered "morning." My son was doing that pretty early, around 3 months or so....BUT he didn't start going without a night waking until around 6 months. Unfortunately his version of "morning" is still usually 5:30, even at 13 months.

I think, technically, thats STTN.

Personally, I consider it to be sleeping straight through until morning. My DD has done 12-14 hours straight since 6 months old but was 1 feeding between 2am and 4am since 2 months old. I didnt consider her STTN until 6 months.

Technically I know it's something like 6 or more hours in a row, but for me, it would be fall asleep before 10 pm and wake up after 5 am. Or maybe that's just my hope for LO ;)

When I talk to other parents or caregivers, they all mostly agree that DD is STTN . DD sleeps for about 8-9 hours (sometimes with a whine that needs cuddling and sometimes we need to locate a lost paci). She wakes between 4-4:30 and needs a bottle, then sleeps until 7-730.

Would you consider this STTN? I always thought it was your kid passed out without a night/early morning feeding.

What do you consider to be STTN
