technically they say it's 5 hours for newborns, but for me sttn means at least 10 straight hours.

To me, STTN means she goes down several hours before I do, doesn't wake for feedings (can take a dream feed when I go to sleep) and wakes up after 6am.

For me, STTN means she goes down and doesn't need us all night. Mine sometimes wakes up and cries for a minute and then goes back to sleep. But at 16 months, she usually does still need a snuggling in the night. She's night weaned. She has periods of STTN and periods of not.

To me it's when she wakes up at a time that's not unreasonable for me to get up for the day. Lately we've been getting her to sleep 10pm-6am and I consider that STTN

I've heard six hours is considered STTN but for me, I consider it STTN if I put her to bed and she doesn't wake up until morning time, which is usually a 12 hr stretch.

But i think most consider 6+ sttn?
My DS has been sleeping 7-10 hours the last week and a half!

Medical definition is 5+ hours. So when he did that I went with it. But now STTN for me is when there are no wakeups between bedtime and morning. Cobi is finally starting to STTN again, and it's 8pm-6 or 7am, then asleep until 8-8:30am. I consider that STTN.

I'm not sure what the official definition is but I consider STTN when LO sleeps 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

I've heard it's a 6-7 hour stretch, so by that definition, he would be STTN! :) Yay! Go A!

For us STTN was more like midnight-5am. At almost 2yo now, we would no longer consider that STTN. Now it's more like 8-6.

DS goes down at 8/830 and wakes up 1x at night around 230~430 to nurse and then sleeps for another 3~5 hours.

He's done a few 8+ hour stretches randomly, but nothing consistent.

Is his first stretch of sleep considered STTN?
