I didn't realize that 6 hours was considered sttn either. I know you are more likely to get your period back post partum once your baby sleeps through the night, so I guess my dreams of gong period free for a while are dashed since my 7 week old sleeps 7 hours?

Sleep for a good block, say 7-10 hours straight coinciding approximately with adult sleeping time. Mine is aged 4 months and I'm happy when she sleeps 9-4 which used to be normal but lately seems to be harder for her to achieve!

Yeah, that's dumb. STTN to me is bedtime to morning time, without wake-ups.

11 PM or midnight to 7 AM or so. That's for an infant though. That ish doesn't fly once you're past 6 months. STTN is my number one priority as a parent ;)

@bushelandapeck: his sleep was seriously awful from birth to 2m! Didn't sleep more than 2 hours straight often up every hour or up for hours at a time. Things turned around at 8w and by 3m I could say it was "normal" for his age and now it's even "good"!

As long as I don't have to wake up .

And I guess it's sort of age dependent? Dd slept 10pm-8am at 6 weeks and I definitely considered that STTN. But now at 18 months I wouldn't consider that STTN .... 7-7 is standard now !

I agree I don't mind her getting up at 3-4 because she will usually sleep in until 7-8

I know the medical definition of STTN is 6 hours....but for me it's I don't have to wake up anytime before 5 am. R is nearly 4 months and he goes 6 hours most nights but has yet to go all the way until 5 am (he goes to bed at 8).

What do you consider STTN?
