@highwire: Yes! My ankles have started swelling too and even if I put my feet up at work, nothing helps like lying in bed with my feet up.

@mediagirl: Oh man, I wish I had a work laptop!

The other thing I'm wondering, is what on earth do I do when my belly gets really huge? Already at 23 weeks, when I sit normally, my belly almost touches my desk lol. But that's another issue.

I really considered getting a workout ball for work. Sitting was so painful!! I ended up either standing or propping my feet up with my laptop on my lap on the really bad days.

I have no advice. Just want to commiserate with you. Mine isn't particularly back pain, it is just so uncomfortable to sit in general. It makes my reflux act like crazy and causes my ankles to disappear under massive amounts of swelling. It only feels good to be laying down or standing up.

I also switched to an ergonomic chair and that helped a bit... I'd go for walks every once in aw hile for some temporary relief. mostly I just sat really awkwardly in my new chair (still do) with an arched back because that's the only thing that makes it feel better.... ugh and the drive home only irritates it more-- feel your pain!

I'm 23 weeks and today the back pain while sitting at my desk at work is almost unbearable. I have a pillow, they ordered me a new, very comfortable desk chair, I'm getting up and walking, but nothing is helping. Getting up helps temporarily but within a few minutes of sitting, it's awful again. I cannot fathom 17 more weeks of this, and what I imagine will be increasingly worse pain.

What did you do to ease pregnancy back pain in similar situations?
