@winniebee:  who makes dinner?

Today I am letting Publix make dinner. Heat & serve.

Most days...

Get home around 4 pm. Do some work. Change my clothes.
Pick up DS about, get back home about 5:30 pm
Dinner prep, feed baby according to daycare schedule
Eat dinner (maybe with DH if he's in town) 7 pm
Give baby his last bottle before bed, change him into jammies 7:30 pm
Play with him until sleep cues
I usually leave LO's room about 8:30/ 9 pm

LO's bath, all cleaning happens on the weekend.

Get home around 5:30.
Pick up kitchen after LO's snack with Dad ( he gets him around 3 and gives him a snack, but never cleans up :silly: )
Make dinner
Then around 6:30 we have playtime or go for a walk or just veg a little while LO plays on his own
7:45-8 we start winding down with books or coloring. Potentially have a snack/lots of milk depending on how much he ate that day.
8:30 bedtime
8:45 clean kitchen from dinner, do a little laundry

Get home anytime between 5:30 and 6:30. Usually dive right into dinner, hopefully with some playing while things cook. Dinner around 6:30 or 7:00. Then play and/or bath until bedtime at 8:00.

I get home around 5-530 at the earliest usually (with the kids). I start dinner pretty quick thereafter and get them snacks. They usually play in the playroom or watch tv. I try and eat around 7 when DH gets home and then it's bath and bed right after. So hard because I feel like I never get enough time with them!

I pick up Tues, Wed, Fri so we are all home by 4:30 pm. We take the dog for a walk as a family usually right away as it gets dark earlier. Supper between 5:30 or 6. Then play around as a family til 6:30 ish and then bath and bed by 7 pm. Then clean up the kitchen, tidy the living room and relax with Netflix, book, phones, etc. DW is solo Mon and Thurs as I work late...I prep supper for her in the morning as I go in late those days.

My husband and I are almost never home at night together, which really sucks. On the nights I pick up (T/TH/F) he works later, because leaving at 430 just gets a lot of side eye.. Then the nights he picks up (M/W) I usually work late to hit my required 42-46 hours per week that my company expects of me.

When I pick up, we are usually home by 5:15, then we play for about 30-40 mins, then I start dinner. This may be awful, but I like to get my son as hungry as possible so he will actually eat what I cook, as dinner is usually our most nutritious meal. We usually eat around 6:45 - then bath is at 7-730. Then play, read at least 5 books (per his demands) then bed by 8-815..

I really hope sometime soon my husband and I can have a normal life where we eat dinner as a family together on weeknights!!

4:30pm - Pick up DD
5-6:30pm - Try to cook or feed DD (slowest eater ever)
5:30pm - DH may or may not get home, may or may not have to leave 10-15 min later  (he works full-time as a teacher and part-time at our church, plus he's been getting our old house ready for sale)
6:30-7pm - Try to clean up kitchen and let DD play/watch TV for a few min
7pm - Bath & bed for DD (DH may do this if he's home and DD doesn't demand mommy)
7:30-11pm - Clean up kitchen/house, make lunches for DH & I, laundry/anything else I need to accomplish
11pm-midnight - Hopefully fall into bed

There's never enough time. I'm ready for life to slow down, but then again the holidays are even busier for DH...

We get home at like 5:40, I play with the kids for like a half hour before it's time to feed, bathe and bed A, who's in bed by about 7. E will eat his supper at like 6:30 and DH will sit with him. Then it's bath and bed time for E and he's in bed by about 8. After the kids are in bed I cook for DH and I.

I really want to get into eating family dinners, but I just can't figure out how to make the timing work right now.

I usually pick up lo and am home around 6/6:15. Dh makes dinner--he's done with work at 5 and walks our dogs and then starts cooking. When lo and I get home, I usually change and play with her until dinner, and usually we eat around 6:30ish. Then we play some more until we start bath time around 7:30. She's usually asleep by 8:30/9, and then after that we get a little downtime.

@mediagirl: We usually get home at 5:40ish and LO is already there because sitter watches him at home. I usually take like 5 minutes to get comfortable, hug and kiss my little babe and then dive into cooking. Thankfully DH and I cook together to speed things up. Dinner is usually done by 6:30 or earlier. We sit and the table and eat. After that we watch a little TV together. Then at about 8 it's bath time and snuggles. Then time for bed for LO at 8:30.

I have a ton of committments through the PTO, it's like I am there at the school at least once per week. On those days, I tend to go in later, stay later and then go to the school. I will get home around 8, and most of the time, my son is already asleep.

On the other days, I get home late, we eat dinner, it's bedtime.

I get home at 4 (I start work at 6am). I immediately change into comfy clothes, while DH watches the kids (he gets home at 4 too). Then we usually all play together for 30-45 min before I start dinner. We usually eat around 5:30-6. Then we play another 30-45 minutes before the boys take a bath. At 7pm, I give DS2 his milk in his room and put him down. While I'm doing that, DH gets DS1 in his pjs and brushes his teeth. Then DH and I watch 1 show with DS1 in our bed, then put him to bed by 8.

When you get home from work, what do you do? Do you spend some time with the family? Do you get right to making dinner? Do you do something else? What time do you get home?

I'm always curious about other schedules. I get home at 5:20 and usually have about 10 minutes to talk/play before I have to start dinner.
