Hmm, can you borrow a family members car?

Our warranty is suppose to cover car rentals. DH and I usually just share his car...but that won't work anymore since his car seats 4 and we're about to be 5.

If it's just an oil change, I typically stay at the dealer with the kids and look at pretty cars.

Brakes only take a day, and lots if brake places are open during the wk end if that's easier.

I usually drop the car off & borrow my mom's & drop her off/pick her up from work or ask for a loaner. The only time ins has paid for my loaner was after an accident.

I'm in this situation now. Luckily my parents were out of town for a few days so I borrowed theirs. I need a car, since my job involves driving around, so otherwise I'd either have to rent a car or somehow borrow hubbies.

@sunny: I called and asked, and they don't. We've never had to make repairs on our car that took more than a few hours!

I'd consider going somewhere else, but this is a family friend's business who I know I can trust so I don't want to risk going somewhere else!

Does your autoshop offer a loaner? Or do they have dropoff/pickup service?

You car needs some repairs, will be in the shop for a few days - do you rent a car? does your insurance cover a loaner? do the auto shop offer a loaner?

I've been putting off getting the brakes fixed on my car for too long and I need to bring it in. But we rely on our one car so unless we rent a car, not sure what else we can do!
