<description>&#60;p&#62;@daniellemybelle:  I know it's hard to let go of family time on the weekends, but for me it was the only way to get my time to myself. DH works long hours and so I was essentially on my own through the week with a very active LO...and I used to have serious FOMO when they would do stuff on the weekends - so I'd go too!! But eventually realised I was t giving enough time to me. I have recently moved closer to family so it's helping, but I still need to work to carve out the weekend time for gym, friends, reading and pottering (sans toddler). Good luck! It's so important, yet so hard to do sometimes!  :heart:

&#60;p&#62;I am still not sure what the answer is for me. Sometimes I think I need more isolation time like some have mentioned because LO is very high energy and I am with her all day, and then DH comes home and wants to talk and hang out basically right up until we go to sleep. But when DH is out of town as much as I enjoy being alone, I get down pretty fast. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I am hoping when LO starts preschool I will be able to carve out a little time for myself every now and then to just go a coffee shop and read. That sounds amazing.&#60;/p&#62;

I'm so damn excited about life now, and I feel so much clarity about what I want out of life. DH stays with LO so I can take classes, study, go to labs, etc. Even though the classes and tests kick my butt, being back in school makes me feel awesome.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I started reading my favorite literary magazine again (just from the library).  I also write and make work and submit it (I am an artist and writer).  I also am exhausted at night and DH has been helping with bedtime so I can sleep or lay down (expecting).  There are things I look forward to-  getting back into a studio, just once a week; making more work outdoors in the coming spring/summer (the kids come along!); volunteering at the hospital; joining a gym with a pool where I can bring the kids.  Those won't be for awhile, but I like having them on the horizon.  And, maybe grad school once they are in school (kinder starts at 4!)

I also think a massage once in a while can do wonders. I have a gift for one as well as one for a salon and my husband keeps telling me to have myself a total pampering day after the baby is born. Sounds good to me!  :silly:

<description>&#60;p&#62;I run, no fast or for very long, but between 30 min and an hour 3 or 4 times a week - I'm happy with the way my legs are looking and its a great time to be alone with my thoughts.  I find that working out in a gym or at home doesn't give me the same escape-it-all feeling.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;My physiotherapists office offers remedial massage which I can write off on my private health insurance, so I like to get a 45 or 60 min massage once every two weeks, which doubles as a bit of physio since the therapist knows my trouble spots. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I try to take 20 or 30 min after my son is in bed and after we've eaten dinner to read or talk to a friend on the phone - just me time.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;So far thats been enough to keep me sane!

<description>&#60;p&#62;I have been making a point to schedule a fun evening for myself once a week, sometimes it's with friends, sometimes it's a leisurely haircut and dinner on my own, whatever fits that week. It's funny too, I made this goal as a new yours years resolution and couldn't imagine what I would do but it's like the more I do it the easier it has become. Part of that is my husband and baby have found their groove too. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I also make a point of taking an hour or so over the weekend to do stuff at home by myself that doesn't involve the baby or housework. That hour is awesome! Sometimes it's just surfing the internet or baking cookies but it's nice to pretend to be prebaby me!

<description>&#60;p&#62;I give myself rest time without guilt.  I'm an introvert, and I need time alone to do nothing every day in order to reset and mentally be able to function the next day.  So once my nightly blitz setting everything up for the next day is done, I tuck into bed with a plate of &#34;just for me&#34; snacks and read or play on my laptop or catch up on emails with friends, or whatever it is I want to do.  Sometimes this means I wander Target by myself for an hour.  Whatever.  My husband doesn't ever question it and I'll often say &#34;do you need anything from me before I go into hiding?&#34;

I have a lot of personal goals such as health &#38;amp; fitness but I still feel like they are &#34;outward&#34; - like, I don't want to look like a slob every day to other people. Of course, being healthier and looking good makes me feel good... but I need to do more just for me. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I want to set one goal of something to do on a regular basis just to take better care of myself. I know many of you are &#34;white knuckling&#34; it and doing a great job, but I am just the type that if I just give and give, I run myself into the ground and I can't keep it up.&#60;/p&#62;
