If they are on my butt and I am going at or above the speed limit and there is no where to go (ie. there are other cars in front of me), I use a trick my friend taught me that I LOVE. I flash my windshield wiper fluid. I rarely get tail gated since I gladly get out of the way for anyone in the passing lane that actually wants go to faster than me. I'm typically going 80ish so if they want to go faster and scope out any speed traps for me, be my guest. If I'm in the passing lane with no where to go and just a train of cars and they want to tail gate, I slow down and be a pain. If they were being a total ass and tail gating for what I think is for no reason, brake check hard.<br /> I'm guilty of tailgating quite a bit. I can't stand people who go in the passing lane at speed limit not passing anyone. We were driving through thick, pea soup night fog a week or two ago and this guy starting tailgating me WITH HIS BRIGHTS ON. I can't freaking see 5 feet in front of me and he's all up on my ass blinding me from behind. I was really stressing and pissed off so DH had me pull off at the next exit so he could take over, and the guy followed us--maybe a coincidence, but the only thing at the off-on exit was a deserted gas station. DH had me stop there, and the guy passed on got right back on the interstate.
