Set her down in the crib (somewhere safe) and walk outside and take a few deep breaths. I watered a few plants outside once and when I came in, I felt ready to deal with the inconsolable baby. She's screaming with me or without me, at least with the latter, I could prepare to deal

One of the following:

-Shove her in the stroller and take her for a brisk walk by the ocean

-Call DH at work and ugly cry for a few minutes

-Invite my dad over; he's retired and is always looking to cuddle the baby while I chill out

I have used the phrase "a mommy time out." I just make sure the kids are safe and I close my bedroom door and scream in a pillow, cry, or take a deep breath. It often helps just put it all in perspective :)

I have given C quiet time in his crib when I just can't take it. That or Sesame Street. Both work wonders on the mental health.

One or more of the following:

Put on a show for him.
Take him outside and let him walk around for 10-15 minutes...the fresh air does us both a world of good.
Put him in his crib and sit outside for a few minutes (where I can't hear him screaming) until I've gotten a hold of myself.

Today was definitely one of those days where I was constantly looking at the clock. LO was hyper and could have used and outing but we are leaving tomorrow on holidays so I am trying to get stuff ready. Stressful!

On my really tired and hard days, I marathon curious george for my daughter. Maybe order a pizza, grab some goldfish. Basically all the things I save for really low energy parental emergencies.

^ that too! No screen time guilt here when momma needs a mental health break. It really is just better for everyone at that moment.

I haven't been to this point yet, at least where I wanted to walk out. But I would put her in her crib and go lay or sit for a minute or ten.

Say you are exhausted and your LO(s) are being incredibly difficult and you feel like you could just walk out the door, how do you deal?

Oh and you are all alone.
