Bath! Relaxing in the bath helps me. (But I'm rarely sore, meaning I rarely work out!) ha

Normally a hot bath with salts, a few Aleve, and lots of water.

Now I just kind of complain, because baths and Aleve are off the table. I tried taking cooler baths, but it just doesn't do it for me.

A bath with epsom salts, lots of water and a foam roller.

I go to a Crossfit-style gym where the workouts are different every day and as a result I feel like I am almost always struggling with some muscle soreness (I can already tell tonight's workout is going to make walking quite painful tomorrow!).

In my experience though the best solution is to keep moving - that will keep the lactic acid moving.

@MsLipGloss: foam roller!! Yes! They're amazing.

I find with good stretching before and after you can avoid most soreness. DH was my trainer back in the day (that's how we met) and he could work wonders with massage & stretching to eliminate soreness. There are some creams you can massage that help too. And there's always Motrin :)

Stretches and self-massage using a (really stiff) foam roller. It hurts like the dickens, but really helps to reduce muscle soreness much more quickly. I don't like to use a lot of heat to treat sore muscles because the muscles loosen when warmed, but become short/tight again once the heat effects are reduced. It can almost be like re-living the onset of the soreness again.

stretching, yoga, and then work out again.. that seems to be the cure..

if it's really bad, then i just lay down and sleep it off

Do you stretch before and after your exercises? When I had a trainer (waaaaaay back when) she told me that I always had to stretch to get my muscles ready for activity and get them "warmed up".

Beyond that, a little Advil always helped me :)

I've been standing and walking more lately, and boy... my muscles are achin'! Especially my core, my hips and my legs...

I tried a hot bath, but that didn't really seem to help. I considered going to get a massage, but that seemed too luxurious. I've been doing a little stretching, but that's not really helping.
