Mavrick is older, so he tends to get out of his bed, and I put him back in... he cries, gets out and I repeat. I know he's exhausted... so I keep at it, until he falls asleep. Other times I don't even try because he doesn't really need it.

I let him sleep in my arms, because i know that's what he really wants if he won't sleep on his own. So I nurse him, then hold him. It's tough, cause then I have to sit with him the whole time, but if it gets him to sleep that's all that matters.
Or I'll carry him in the baby carrier, he'll sleep that way too.

We're struggling with this now, her schedule (very loosely used) got way way out of whack last week due to craziness. Now she's just all out of sorts and it's been a struggle this weekend getting her to nap. She just will play her self into exhaustion. I try nursing her but she just wriggles away, I try holding her while she cries or going on a walk but this weekend she's just got to be on the verge of collapse before she'll shut her eyes, so we just take her outside and try and get some sillies out and then try for a nap again.

When LO was very young I would sob uncontrollably and then go driving down the highway. :( I would not want to go back to those days....SAD!

It's been a few months since I've had that problem- crazy! Now I would probably just let her tire herself out a little more and try again later.

Same as @Mrs. Jacks. I then see what happens for the next few days and determine if we need to start the nap routine a bit later.
