I put her on the floor and let her crawl around and read while still keeping an eye on her. Sometimes she's a cranky pants if I'm not playing with her, but sometimes I just don't care. As long as she's not crying, than I just deal with it because sometimes we just need a break!

@Lozza: yes, I would do both those things normally. But it's pouring outside, so no walk and my husband took the car to work today (he normally bikes) because of the rain. I'm counting down minutes til when he gets home lol only 2 more hours!

That's when I used to turn on the TV or resort to the baby swing when he was younger. Just to take me to the end of the day. Then when Wagon Sr. came home I'd hand him over and escape!! Either to the couch to watch tv, or to the stores to run errands or shop or get a pedicure, or to my bedroom to cry. Usually the last option!!!

@Coco Bee: Would driving around help? It doesn't do much for my LO now, but when he was younger, I could usually just stick him in the car and he'd be quiet, if not asleep, for most of the time.
Now if I'm stuck with LO and he is being a pain, I'll often try sticking him in the stroller (if I think he's tired) or on the push-tricycle (if he's plenty awake) and going for a walk. It's not relaxing, but at least I can kind of turn off my brain and it keeps LO quiet and happy.

And you still have to take care of LO, they're not napping, they didn't let you sleep last night, it's the end of the week and you're ready to be done?!

seriously, I LOVE my LO but he is driving me nuts today. I cannot wait for DH to get home and help me out. I'm running on empty today. DS isn't even napping long enough for me to eat.
