@LindsayInNY: pretty much. I realized it was milk after eating ice cream. And tomatoes after eating spaghetti a few times. Those are the ones I've been able to pinpoint so far. Trial and error.

I had to cut out hummus for a little while (same gas issues as beans). I didn't realize before then how much I liked to eat hummus! Happily as he got older and his stomach matured he didn't have issues with anything I ate.

Milk and soy, definitely.

I was also off eggs, nuts, treenuts, and corn for a long time, and at times, wheat, beef, and all legumes, but we never truly figured out what the remaining things were that bugged her.

@LindsayInNY: basically Kelly Mom said that the symptoms are about the same as they would be for an adult - so agitation and wakefulness. Basically I had coffee for about two weeks and she slept about two to three fewer hours on those days. I originally thought it was probably just her getting older, but when I went off caffeine her night sleep increased by about 2.5 hours.

@Ash: Hers is definitely gas. Her spit up is normal (if she over eats, nurses for fun and not hunger, etc.) so I think it's limited just to gas. Did you just have to guess a bit to figure out what was causing it?

@Herrade: I never thought about eggs being a problem!! Oh man...

I used to think tomatoes/tomato sauce, when he was really little, but that could've just been coincidental. I haven't noticed that any one item bothers T! And with him having pumped milk so much, i wouldn't even know where to begin

Dairy, soy (including soybean oil and soy lecithin), beef, and Chipotle (!). Haven't nailed down what it is in the chicken bowl I get, but when I eat it he sleeps really poorly at night. Chipotle had become a go-to for takeout that was milk and soy free, but not anymore!

@MrsADS: SoDelicious makes a coconut based ice cream that is good. I liked the chocolate or mint chocolate chip because after the first bite they didn't taste like coconut to me. It's in most grocery stores, and Target. I liked that when I was dealing with DS's allergies. Also the Enjoy Life chocolate chips.

My LO has had a reaction if I eat any of the following more than small portions every few days: Rice, pasta, soy, beans, eggs. I can have about one egg a week. Any more and she gets gassy, with mucousy poop. If I eat pasta as a whole meal, she spits up. If I eat rice several nights in a row, more mucous in her poop. Basically, everything in moderation seems to be fine. However, I've always been dairy free, so I have no idea how she would react to that.

Everything apparently - DS is 6 wks old and has severe reflux and some kind of food protein allergy although we are not really sure what. After 2 weeks on a strict elimination diet - no dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, fish - he got a lot better. I also noticed he reacted to corn so I'm also eliminating corn and limiting wheat/gluten.

So basically all food?! I am pretty much just eating chicken and potatoes! I do still have 1 small cup of coffee in the AM that I probably should give up but I just can't with a baby that doesn't sleep. I also limit gassy foods - beans, onions, cruciferous veggies, spicy stuff, etc because I know his belly is so sensitive.

Going to Trader Joes today and hoping they have some kind of safe cookies or something I can eat because Mama needs some dessert!!

She's MSPI so anything with dairy or soy which we still can't consume and until she was about 8 months - coffee

As an infant very dark leafy greens, beans, and cabbage made her very gassy and miserable

Chocolate, caffeine, and orange juice were really rough for DS who had bad reflux. Luckily he outgrew the sensitivities through my milk and I can consume all of these things now. I think around 8 months I reintroduced caffeine (thank goodness!) and he was ok with it then.

We went to Kansas City for the weekend and I realized that DD does not handle me eating baked beans well at all. She was so miserable and gassy. And then it happened after I had pad Thai. I guess it was the spiciness?

What kind of things would you eat that would later affect LO via milk?
