LO is 9 months. She has a bout 20 oz of formula a day give or take a few and then each meal is 4 or 5 oz total and then we have started snacks in between meals of a few puffs or fruit. Breakfast she has greek yogurt with chunks of fruit (I steam all the fruit first so it is soft) . Lunch varies we have done puffs, cheese, hummus, liverwurst, kiwi, beans, shredded chicken, scrambles egg yolk with mushrooms. Dinner is usually just veggies cause DH is home alone with her, so it is usually just whatever he defrosts cause I have a bunch of chunky purees in the freezer (butternut or acorn squash, peas, carrots). Purees are on their way out in our house, the more texture the more she loves it.
We try to let her try anything we have, as long as it is soft enough. We do stay away from berries, nuts and honey. For now anyway.

ETA Lo has 2 teeth on the bottom

My LO is 8.5 months old and drinks about 25 oz of breastmilk a day. He eats about 3 oz of purées for breakfast, 6 to 7 oz of purées at lunch and usually 4-5 oz of purées at dinner. I just tried a chunkier purée (stage3) and he didn't love it yet. He eats puffs too!

@sunshine83: l is 8.5 months and we have fed him pretty much everything but nuts and honey. He breastfeeds 6-8 times in a 24 hr period and he gets breakfast, lunch, dinner and an afternoon snack.

He LOVES shredded meat. Chicken, pot roast and shredded pork are all hits.

my 8.5 mo nurses about 6 times a day and i offer solids 3 times a day. she gets random purees i've made: carrots, mango, banana, peas, spinach, pear, apple, broccoli, and any mixture of that along with me offering her stuff to pick up on her own: lettuce, beets, carrot, spaghetti squash, corn, cous cous.

i try to be free with what i give her as long as it doesn't have salt or sugar or spicy and she can reasonable chew/gum, swallow it.

My 9.5 mo old has two bottom teeth and she eats all the usual purees as well as yogurt, oatmeal, cheese, toast, pastina, soft pieces of produce and meat (like meatballs). Going to try eggs this weekend. She also gets 4 bottles a day - approx 28 oz total.

I feed DS (also 9 months old with 2 bottom teeth) fruit and veggie purees, scrambled eggs, pieces of pasta, rice, pieces of banana, avocado, puffs, .. pretty much anything soft that he can chew.
I nurse, so not sure how much milk he's getting/day.

Thanks everyone! That's helpful. I'm just trying to gauge what is the norm although I know every kid is different.

LO is 8 1/2 months and I've just started giving him some chunkier foods. He has 2 teeth on the bottom and one on top. He will self feed puffs or wafers which I think has really helped him practice chewing. But they are "meltable" so not a big choking hazard. I've also added in bigger pieces of mashed banana and small pieces of scrambled egg. He's not ready for stuff that needs to be really chewed like actual bread, but I think in a month or so, he might be ready.

He eats about 20 ounces of breast milk and about 8 ounces of solids. (He's not a big eater in general and is small for his age.)

@petunia354: I personally don't think I'd be too worried... my LO didn't take to solids very well in the beginning, either. I don't think it was until she was at least a year old that she began to eat a substantial amount. She just mostly wanted to nurse!

@sunshine83: At 9 months I fed her the same amount of breast milk as I had been feeding prior to introducing solids. I also gave her raisins, chopped prunes, raisin bread, plain yogurt mixed with mashed fruit

We've given her fruit and veggies purees, meat purees in store bought pouches, yogurt, rice porridge with chicken or fish, and she loves chomping on pieces of fruit in her kidsme feeder. She eats 2-3 solid meals a day and three bottles of 5oz breastmilk at daycare and I nurse once in the morning and once at night.

I completely forgot we have given her cooked egg yoke which is a favorite and greek yogurt. She also has the puffs which I think is a good learning tool for eating. She gets very into trying to pick them up and get them in her mouth.

DS is 9 months (7.5 adjusted) and eats mostly purees. Has had absolutely no interest in feeding himself bread, cheese or puffs. He's pretty picky about what purees he will eat too. Not sure if I should be worried or not!

At that age, my LO was eating various types of fruit/veggie purees, small pieces of cheese, cooked egg yolk, rice porridge (cooked with chicken or beef and veggies, and then pureed), yogurts, soft pieces of bread, and Gerber puffs. She didn't each much at all (probably 3-4 ounces of solid food 2-3 times per day), and mostly drank breast milk.

My daughter is almost 9 months old. We've given her some solids. Mostly fruit purees, mashed potato, mashed avocado, soup, muffin, and some cake. :) She only has two bottom teeth. What kinds of things do you feed your 9 month olds? What's your ratio of solids vs. breast milk or formula?
