We have done purées pretty exclusively. T just turned eight months old three days ago.

How would he self-feed things like rice? Do they just pick individual grains? It must take forever. I assume he's still too young to use a spoon by himself.

T has been eating solids since 5 months old. He eats a pretty varied diet including chicken and beef. (We cook those in the slow cooker to make them soft and tender first.) Is he supposed to start making a mess and eating stuff like that with his fingers?

I started a similar post & got great suggestions: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/finger-foods-for-8-month-old-not-too-messy-or-hard-to-make

At 12 months, I still am not great with this. I frequently do non-breakfast foods for breakfast because she's allergic to eggs & I don't want to do all carbs & fruit. At dinner she usually eats what we eat, if I can get it ready in time!

I get stuck in feeding ruts, too! LO loves bananas, Cheerios, string cheese, blueberries, black beans, peas, pieces of chicken, avocado, roasted sweet potato pieces... Following for more ideas!
Eta: he's 9.5 months

Everything we eat. Last night I have her veggies off the pizza and some of the crust part, all the of the above, she had carnitas last week, Cheerios, any fruit or veggie, pretty much nothing is off limits (excepts sweets!) haha. She's 9 months.

At that age, I started feeding them a portion of whatever we were eating!

Breakfast ideas:
- Scrambled eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, chicken apple breakfast sausages, mini quiches, toast, sliced bananas and other fruits, cereal, etc.

Lunch/dinner ideas:
- Anything paired with rice, fried rice, rotisserie chicken, fish, shredded beef or pork, noodles of all kinds (spaghetti, soba, udon, yakisoba, jajangmyun, etc), steamed or roasted veggies, soups (butternut squash, chicken soup, minestrone, etc), non-spicy chili (there's this sweet potato turkey chili from skinny taste that I really like), meat & veggie stirfries, and of course mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza, and quesadillas (easy to hide meat and veggies in these!) for super easy go-to dinners.

Hi Moms,

What do you feed your lo? My LO is 10 month and will only eat if she self-feed. I am running out of ideas of what to feed her! Right now, she usually has a slice of toast with egg and some yogurt for breakfast, noodle for lunch, fruit for snack and rice of some sort with dinner. I have to admit I don't eat very healthy myself so any suggestions on what's easy to prepare for just the two of us would be great! (She eats pretty much everything by this point except meat... I am thinking of introducing meat to her as well) TIA!
