If you are worried about hydration, our nurse suggested us to give him frozen pedialyte ice chips when we had the stomach virus. That time he didn't eat and almost couldn't hold down anything. I think you could try water or juice ice chips did hydration?

DD, when sick, will only eat crackers and fruit. She'll drink from a straw and if she's really not eating much then I'll give her undiluted apple juice. I hope she gets better soon!

She doesn't eat a lot when she is sick...bread, water, crackers, apple chips and rice.

Breastmilk! But if that is not an option for you, I try to get her to take as much water as I can, and just eat whatever they seem interested in.

Hope LO feels better soon!

I usually just let her eat whatever she feels like. Even if its mostly fruit and Cheerios, it's only for a few days and at least she's getting something. I put pedialyte in her sippy cup and she likes that usually.

Usually he'll eat soup.

Also diluted gatorade and water from open cup.

When he's sick I just go with what he wants which is usually soup and crackers (maybe) or yogurt melts.

@Freckles: if she's wetting her diaper, I think she's ok for now?

Olive loves to drink from open cups too... especially with a bendy straw!

I fed DD lots of rice crackers, goldfish and diluted apple juice. Luckily she still managed to eat one meal a day pretty good.

@mrbee: wet diapers went down yesterday, but it is better today. I let her drink from an open glass cup, which seemed to help too.

LO has been sick for the past few days and refuses to eat anything. Well, all she will eat is yogurt pouches, crackers and sweet carbs (i.e., scones). She wont even eat fish congee that she normally loves! She hasn't been drinking too much either. I gave her some diluted OJ and she made a disgusted face.

Any suggestions on how to keep her hydrated? It is awful seeing her not eat since she normally eats so well. I don't want her to only eat sweets...
