Oh definitely the getting dressed in the morning. Even if we agree on clothes ahead of time it's always a battle. He doesn't want what we have/it's not comfortable/he wants to eat first...always something.

@Foodnerd81: Ugh. YES! My husband still lets him watch occasional YouTube videos and then wonders why LO has a fit when they're done.

@lemondrop: @Foodnerd81: Haha, every time DS sees me go in his closet he asks to wear his dalmatian costume from Halloween.

Generally just getting him to do what I want to do (especially in the morning) takes a ton of patience. He takes forever to go down the stairs, and often decides to run back to his room for some reason after he's a couple steps in. He's a super slow eater in the morning and this morning took about a half hour to eat some of a toaster waffle and a box of craisins. Putting on shoes requires asking 4 times if he give me his feet, then as soon as I start to put one sock on, he pulls his foot away and says, "no, other one first". Then once I finally get him in the car he first sits *next* to his carseat instead of in it, and when I finally get him to climb in the carseat, he's kneeling and looking backwards.

I spend my entire morning every day convincing him to do what I want him to do. If I force him, I get a total meltdown and he's strong enough to make it REALLY difficult. I have limited success with counting to 3, and it loses it's effectiveness if I have to do it over and over.

@pregnantbee: we have the same issue with videos on the phone. I never let her for this reason, but DH lets her watch a video on his phone the she has a meltdown when it's over. Every damn time.

@pregnantbee: It's so true. For DS, it's the ability to keep changing apps and videos that I think is overstimulating. When he watches a short show on t.v., he's fine. We still let him use the ipad occasionally in the car but he can't use the internet so it's not nearly as bad.

@bushelandapeck: It's so hard. And I feel like a jerk for not letting him watch. But he's so much better and more creative when it doesn't exist.

@pregnantbee: we have the same issue with the ipad/Youtube so we cut both out completely. He's still allowed to watch a show on TV but once it's over, the tv goes off, no arguing.

@lemondrop: @Foodnerd81: hahaha! I wouldn't care if she would actually pick out her clothes. She has no interest in that. SO I pick them and try to pick things she likes and when she's not up for it? GAH.

Well my kid is wearing her tiger Halloween costume right now, so... I'm not willing to make getting dressed a battle right now. And yes, she went out, to the store and lunch with dad like that.

We fight the most about going up the stairs in our building. It's just a battle of the wills a lot of the time. I've tried different tactics that wil work sometimes but it seriously makes me not want to leave the house with her.

Eating/snacking, constantly with my oldest. And using bathrooms with hand dryers. Instant terror and refusal even if he has to pee like a racehorse :P

Not pouring the sippy cup everywhere with my youngest. And coloring on my walls with crayons. We switched to Crayola washable because of this. <eye roll>

I fight over clothes with my daughter. Everything is always too hard, too rough, too tight, too scratchy. OMG. This morning I put her in a shirt and pants that are big on her. Plus, she recently lost a bit of weight from a tummy bug so everything is hanging on her. Yet, everything was too tight this morning. GAH. I ended up sending her to daycare in sweatpants and a Frozen tee shirt. And I don't care. :)
