@sorrycharlie: Lol, my LO was teeny tiny for her first Chanukah too so she got a Chanukah board book and CD. I didn't want to not get her anything, and I figured those things could be used in the future too. And we live by both sets of grandparents so she never lacks for anything!

Our LO will only be ~3 months but we won't have another gift giving opportunity til her first birthday next sept :) so we might buy some things and put them away that she will use later in spring or summer. I'm telling family members board books (she has only about 5!).

Santa also told me she will probably get diapers and wipes. :P

@looch: I joked around with dh that we should wrap up some yogurt.... her favorite food, lol! I wanted to stay away from toys but she did just get a play kitchen for her birthday and she has no food for it yet so that's a good idea to make an exception. Thanks for all the ideas!

@highwire: shes only one, still too little for stickers. But good to keep in mind for the future. We just watched my 7 year old niece open birthday gifts and out of all the pricey things she got sooooo excited about stickers!

At this age, it's more about unwrapping than the gift itself, so I'd do a few books, some snacks that she likes and some new socks and onesies. If you want to get something bigger, you can get something that can be broken down, like a set of blocks or a play food set.

This is the first year we're doing 8 gifts for chanukah for lo this year because I feel like she's old enough but we'll just give small gifts. But she doesn't need any toys! So far I got her a couple of books..... and I'm thinking a ticket to the zoo or children's museum. What do you give your toddlers for holiday gifts?
