I have jewelry given to me by my paternal grandfather, and I know my maternal grandmother plans to leave me some of hers as well. Those will all be divided somehow. We also have land both here and in the Philippines that they'll inherit. One of my family members had a situation where both of her parents died within a small space of time. It was miserable splitting everything up and deciding who got what. The siblings fought bitterly. So, for me, I really want to live off what I have, sell property and have a smaller house, etc., but retire/have no debt, etc., and if I leave anything to my kids, it will probably be money that I didn't use in retirement. Maybe one or two pieces of antique furniture that were passed down to me. I have a bamboo chest that belonged to my parents, but used for my toys growing up. The chest has moved with me a couple times after college, so it's mine now to pass down. My blanket that my parents tell me theu purchased in Mexico for me when I was a baby. It's twin size and heavy without adding bulk and has thick "fringe."
