The two teachers he has have been there for 30 years (!), they have a no phone/tech policy in the classroom, and all the food is organic and healthy. It's a great place. DS is in the 2 year old room at a small preschool run by a local church and it's nothing fancy, but all the employees and teachers have been there for several years, all the teachers are really warm, they know my son's name by sight even though he's only been there 2 weeks - and I'm talking all the teachers and employees, from the director to the pre-K teacher to the breakfast room lady. They play outside a lot, get dirty, my son is covered in marker stains at the end of the day, they sing a blessing song before meals, they don't allow aggressive media on clothing (no batman no ninja turtles) because it sets a bad example, just normal and wholesome and fun. They are so fun, patient (with kids AND parents), and really love what they do.Some have been there over 20 years....this year DD2's teachers are younger, but one of them is actually a graduate of the preschool - how cool is that? </p> <p>DD1: All the fun "extras" she gets - ballet, gymnastics, and yoga taught by real experts in these fields, the chance to cook, and some daily Spanish/sign language. They are dedicated and devoted and I know my daughter is in good hands. </p> <p>School is still very new, but I love that I finally understand what is going! And good day care costs enough that I think it limits the economic diversity that you might find in public schools. We switched DS1 from his first school after a few months of him getting terribly sick constantly. The class sizes are smaller at this school and we haven't had nearly the amount of illness. But I think the best part about our school is how professional the teachers all seem. They actually teach the kids (appropriate to their developmental stage) rather than just babysit. It is such a great environment for our guys! What do you like about your LO's school? </p>
