I love the amount of activity there is, and I love how bicycle-friendly it is. Lots of fun things to do around, and there are 3 different large cities within two hours. I now live in dallas and the culture here is such a polar opposite. Everyone is friendly, ppl sit down and enjoy their meal &amp; company, and that whole "southern hospitality" is real folk. I love the change of pace. I love how close we are to major highways, how the airport is about 40 min away, and we have options to visit two cities nearby. I love the solitude and privacy. I love that my kids have acres and acres of countryside to explore. I love the quietness and the lack of traffic noise, except for the whine of the combine engines during harvest. I love the wind in the grasses. I love the huge sky. I love having the space to be able to raise our own livestock. I love our 300 days of sun a year.<br /> Yes, cheesy and cliched, but I really do love all of that and so much more. I love that we can afford a nice house on small salaries, and I love that it only takes me 20 mins to get to work! We also live in a town right in the middle of all the major Texas cities, so a day trip to Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and even Dallas is really easy. Every third friday there's an arts and crafts festival with live music, there's lots of different festivals (seafood festival, italian festival, chalk art festival, etc.) and they have things happening for all the different holidays. There's cute little shops and yummy restaurants in the center of town, which is two minutes away. </p> <p>For the most part I love the weather. The view of the mountains never gets old!! Near my house we have a middle school track to run at, a new library, markets with healthy, good food. We can walk to the local pool for swim lessons in the summer. I love that the county is building more and more greenways and attaching our little town to the main city's greenway so we have more access to biking and walking trails. I love the weather because we don't get really, really cold days! </p>
