My kid. Parenting is a tough gig, but having a little munchkin to call your own makes it all worthwhile. For me, becoming a mom is like having the key to the friggen universe! It's like the secret to life! Being a mom allowed me to grow in so many ways (not just in weight :silly: ), but it opened my eyes to what's truly important. It's crazy cliche, but becoming a mom gave my life a new meaning. It's like finding a super-secret level in an oldschool video game as a kid - so many highs, but it comes with a lot of work to get there with new possibilities that will forever change you. It's a feeling of joy, fear, unease, exhaustion, and unimaginable responsibility all wrapped up in one. My husband and I were talking about this recently- we are privileged enough to be able to choose to have a lot of kids. We could have fewer kids and take really nice vacations or drive luxury vehicles, but our priority is having a big family. When you only want the best for them it helps to really evaluate what's important and what's not. For me, it also helps me to take better care of myself. Being a mom is hard work and can get crazy really quickly. And then LO finally fell asleep on our bed and she was so beautiful and peaceful and I just lay there and watched her for a while. With parenting you can go from the lowest lows to the highest highs in just a moment. And I love that, that she can bring me out of any funk just like that (and not always by sleeping :wink: ). I'm really satisfied with what I was able to do/see/learn/experience before having children, but having them really shows you what life is all about. It's amazing to have and experience unconditional love for these little people who deprive you of sleep for months on end or make you crazy some days.
