@gotkimchi: Ugh, that is the worst, I'm sorry. I've had a couple of similarly crappy situations. Once, I did a couple in-person interviews and even shadowed someone at the job. Then I didn't hear from them for a week so I touched base and they said they promoted someone internally. Thanks, for the heads up, guys...Another time, I interviewed with multiple people and they even had me go somewhere to do a freaking drug test. Then I didn't hear from them a bit and followed up and they had gone with someone else. WTF. I peed in a cup for you! And I'm pretty confident I passed the test ;-) But if it makes you feel better, the job I ended up getting I've now been at for over two years and love. Something better will come along!

@PinkElephant: @T.H.O.U.: @MrsSCB: thanks everyone, I called and asked for feedback and was told there was no feedback given, they went with an internal candidate. So a weird conclusion to a very long process

In college, I thought I'd nailed an interview for my first postgrad job, and was really disappointed to get a rejection letter in the mail. I was surprised to hear another very qualified girl in my program had also been rejected - the following AM we both got calls that the wrong letters went to the wrong candidates - pretty big oops! This was a large, international financial institution- so these things DO happen!

That is weird. I hope it was a mistake. If not, maybe you wouldn't want to work there anyway, because that would be super rude!

Yes I would kinda push to talk to someone just to make sure it's not a mistake

I applied for a job and had 2 phone interviews and then an in person interview with 2 supervisors. It went well and they were actually talking about 2 different positions they could use me in. Sent me their benefit and insurance information. Said if I don't hear in 2 weeks to contact them but didn't think it would be that long. I emailed yesterday to follow up. Today I got an automated email that they're not interested in my application - you know the kind that you get if you apply online and they don't even call you. Does that seem weird? I guess I was expecting a call or personal email after all that
