We have his bed, a dresser, a book display thingy, small chair and a cubby shelf for toys.

Please excuse the hot mess!

My Lo's room is incredibly tiny so all she has is a dresser, bed, and kitchen. The changing table is in her little sister's room. Her books are hidden inside the kitchen, as well as some other toys. That thing makes for some great storage. ;)

I like @brownie said, with the under the window seating where you can store books and toys.

What about a reading nook?

What about an under the window shelf and window seat? Then the space can be used for playing.

We set up a little reading nook with a little chair and ottoman under a canopy with a kid size side table next to her book shelf.

We are in a slow transition. We have his crib, bookshelf, unfinished teepee (WIP), and dresser. I think that's enough for us. We thought about doing an activity table but I'm not sure there's enough room.

We are going to be moving the glider and ottoman from DS1 (almost 3 years old) into DS2's nursery. (Pay no attention to the PnP in the picture, that will be gone too). Now there is a large space in the middle of the room and in front of his large window that I need ideas on how to furnish.

What do you put in your (older) toddler's room beside his bed and a dresser? A desk, activity table, shelf of books, etc?

I'd like for his room to be a place he likes to be (as opposed to just a place to goes to sleep) BUT not SO fun that he does not sleep at all.
