@shimmer..yes I have 2 actually...good call. I had the same (no twins here though!) 3rd degree episiotomy...no meds...ugh.
I've gotta get better about the stool softener! I hate myself every time I don't take it!

@lydg: Do you have a boppy? I sat on that for the first few weeks and it helped tremendously!

@mrswagon i think all my stitches have dissolved/fallen out and it appears that my incision has healed. Dang...I feel the same, no itching and nothing visible...ugh! DH and I ran errands last week when the same thing happened and my bottom hurt so bad from sitting in the car we had to go home! And I just packed my snoogle a couple weeks ago and don't feel like getting it out to go sit on it!

@lydg: I had a 3rd degree episiotomy and pooping really did suck (and still does sometimes)! Get those stool softeners, stay hydrated, and take your time in the bathroom!

P.S. I said poop to my midwives. They didn't care!

@lydg: I'd think it was hemorrhoids since it's when you poop... if your stitches were opening up and your wound was still so bad that you were bleeding bright red blood I think you'd be in big trouble :( but that sounds exactly like what I was like when I had the internal hemorrhoids. No itching really and no visible hemorrhoid popping out, but pain while pooping and after, and bright red blood in the toilet. I'm no doctor! But it sounds similar! Sucks so bad :( that pain and discomfort is no joke.

It hurts like a mother! @mrswagon I think it's because I had such a bad tear and an episiotomy...but I wondered if it was hemorrhoids...I don't even know what they would look/feel like!

I would say bowel movement. And it sounds like internal hemmhroids... I had those :( if you take benefiber and miralax they should heal up pretty quickly. Stool softeners (colace) never worked for me!

I always use the term poo. Not sure why, but I also never felt bad talking about poo with my doctor, LO's doctor or daycare (it's amazing how comfortable you become with poo conversations!).

I'd say poop because my OB is really laidback lol.

but it depends on your OB :)

on a side note..i feel your pain, sista. my stool softeners are not softening a damn thing.

I said poop to mine and then was embarrassed about it. I would have said bowel movement if I actually took some time to think about it. :)

LO is 4 weeks old and my postpartum appt is in a couple weeks. I tore really bad during delivery, but in healing...whenever I go poop I still bleed bright red blood! It's my own fault for not taking stool softeners, but always end up hurting like hell the whole day. So, what do you say to your dr when telling them? It still hurts when I take a s%#*? Poop? Bm? I pretty much want to go with the first one!!
