I'm the world's best mom, and literally just go back and forth between oatmeal + a banana or a waffle with peanut butter + a banana. We do include smoothies each morning, and I cook better breakfasts on the weekends.

@gingerbebe: smoothies might be a good idea. he literally changes his mind everyday so i honestly have no idea what to expect.

today we did string cheese, a banana and toast with PB. he ate all of the string cheese and banana and literally one bite of the toast. there are some great ideas on here though - so i'm confident we'll have some options now! thanks everyone!

Every morning I make the same breakfast

LO1 - steel cut oats, fruit, and breakfast sausage
LO2 - gf oats, fruit, breakfast sausage, avocado and sometimes coconut yogurt

I have a lot of food restrictions due to allergies, and unfortunately many of the easy go to breakfast items don't work for us.

@megjay18: Can he manage a smoothie out of a straw cup? I make mine thinner so they can be sucked out of a straw pretty easily (think Odwalla smoothie thickness) made with yogurt, a splash of OJ or a whole peeled clementine, milk, banana, berries, and usually some kind of frozen veg like spinach or peas or carrots that can't really be detected. You can make a batch every 2-3 days and just pour it out in the morning (just shake up the bottle) since its not frozen and it can be a nice drink to have with a waffle or something. Another thing you can do is bake pancake batter in mini muffin tins with a bite of breakfast sausage or ham in the middle and freeze them in big batches. That way he gets a pancake with a little bit of protein in each bite.

He loves oatmeal, like he's obsessed. So he eats that a lot, I try to serve it with a fruit.
He also likes scrambled eggs and chicken sausage, and toast
I will also give him yogurt and granola with a banana and he's a fan of that. I think breakfast foods are his favorites, cause we typically have no problem getting him to eat breakfast.
On the weekend, DH will sometimes do something like pancakes.
Dinner, on the other hand... ;)

The same thing every week day: sausage, a tiny bit of cereal, yogurt, and milk. I don't feel guilty about the lack of variety because they feed her second breakfast at daycare. :)

On weekends, we go all out with eggs, cheese grits, fruit, bacon, toast, etc. Kiddo loves breakfast!

My kids hate eating breakfast, and to be honest they really only like "snacks" first thing in the morning. So their usual first food of the day is something like fishy crackers and raisins, or apple slices and bunny crackers, or yogurt, cheese sticks, etc. Then some time around 10:00 (or 11:45 on school days for my 3-year old) they will have a bowl of cereal or eggs or "jelly toast."

i just wanted to bump this thread. i'm having a hard time finding something my 3yo will eat in the mornings. i need something that he won't spill on himself or the couch (i.e. yogurt, oatmeal, cereal) and that's easy to make (i.e. i'm not going to make eggs or an omelette at 6 am when i'm taking care of the baby and getting myself ready).

we've been giving him french toast sticks, nutrigrain bars, the occasional poptart, pancakes, sometimes he'll eat toast. but i feel like these aren't very nutritious and i'm starting to get mom guilt. i've tried making egg/omelettes in muffin form ahead of time and just heating them up, but he wasn't feeling it. he's kind of picky. any suggestions of what else we could try?
