We don't do much winter storm prep other than making sure we have appropriate stuff in our trunks. I keep water, a sleeping bag, a warm coat and gloves, diapers, etc. in my trunk all through the winter in case I break down somewhere.</p> <p>During tornado season I keep an extra set of tennis shoes in the basement for everyone in the family and make sure to keep water down there as well as a storm radio. I figure, I'll strap on a pair of skis and ski to the local grocery store if I really need something... but I've only done that once in Truckee after a week long storm. It was so FUN! I put on tele skis and skied 3 or so miles to the store.</p> <p>Where I'm from (and you) 6-8 feet is just a really fun day, not a big deal... and it's always so nice when they close 80.
