My nieces understand that there is a baby in my belly and the 5 year old said "so you just go to the bathroom and when it's ready the baby will come out?" I was kind of, just ask your mommy. And she's like "well mommy told me sissy & me came from a cut in her tummy", because she had c-sections. I'm not the one who is going to explain the natural birth!

She also coudln't understand why I only had one in my belly and my cousin has 2. When I show her U/S pictures, she ask where the other one is, since she's used to the twin ultrasound pictures.

Haha my niece just told me last night that she thinks the baby is living in an egg (maybe too much Easter influence!). She's not completely far off, since that's how it started!

@aunt pol: I always told my husband that there was no way my belly could grow any bigger. And of course it did.

My niece started asking after I was pregnant. My BIL told her that Mommy and Daddy pricked their fingers, and mixed their blood together with a can of coke. And that's how they made her.

We'll be going the tell the truth route, probably with the help of a book on the topic.

DH's nieces have been asking me this a lot lately. I just stick to 'Ask your mum, she's done it, I haven't yet.'
Which I know is kind of lame, but I don't want to get in trouble for saying something SIL isn't happy with!
It's funny the difference between the boy and girl questions- DH's nephew, 5, has a new 7month old brother and it was clearly influencing him when we told him I'm having twins. His jaw dropped and he stared at my belly and said, ' But how are you going to fit TWO babies in your belly??!!!'
Funny thing is, I've been kind of wondering the same thing myself lately- I'm 33 weeks now and there doesn't seem to be a spare inch in there:)

We've always just told my little sister that a baby comes when you get married. Well after my sister and I got married she kept waiting and waiting, wondering why there was no baby haha. It was cute.

Well now she is 7 and the other day we were talking about our cousin who is getting married this summer, but he already has a 1 yr old daughter. So she asked me, "how can they already have her if they're not married? That just doesn't make any sense."

It was so freakin' cute but I had no idea what to tell her... haha I said... umm just ask mom. :)
