While I prefer spelling grey with an "e", for the name, I prefer Grayson. One of the boys spells it Greason, which I had never seen before. My understanding is that Americans spell "gray" with an "a" and the English spell it with an "e," if that affects your spelling preference. I like both spellings. The only think I'd consider if I were you is whether using a name out of your usual taste or style will make it harder to choose subsequent baby names.
