I think it is really pretty but you'd definitely spend lots of time telling people how to pronounce it. However that can happen with any name. Although I don't want to admit it to her, so many people had/have a hard time pronouncing it (including me until they told me how and I practiced saying it), and she doesn't like that people try and call her Mimi, which her older son came up with as a nickname. They apparently also considered Takami (which I think is easier to pronounce, honestly). However, with Alice (what I consider to be a classic American name) as your other daughter's name, I think Selah is pretty alternative. I also pronounced it "Sell-uh" until I read your pronunciation.
