I sat on my exercise ball all the time and I think it helped LO drop and engage. Other than that, I just chilled out and didn't do anything special.

My midwife's suggestion: rub your nipples to produce a hormone that will catalyze labor (I forget what it's called). During the days before I actually went into labor, this worked like a remote control. When I rubbed, I contracted, when I stopped, the contraction stopped. It was pretty scary!
The evening before I went into labor I had pasta arrabiata and after that I went bowling with my dad and my husband. Thinking back, I have no idea how I managed that, being so huge, but somehow I did, and I like to think that was the trigger... =)

I don't think it was anything I did but personally I'd just enjoy lazy time til 40weeks or so if I were you. :) I did some cleaning and carrying laundry around though, maybe that helped?

I went 12 days overdue and tried everything!! Nothing worked!! On day 11 my midwife did a pretty painful membrane sweep and I went into labor 4 hours later. I give her all the credit although it could've been coincidence!!!

Indian food with eggplant! Had one Indian dinner on Sunday and a few hours later thought I was leaking amniotic fluid. Went to the hospital but was sent home because it was not amniotic fluid. Two days later, ate Indian food again and that time my water broke for real. (DS was born just 4 days before his due date). I also walked as much as I could the last few weeks.

No clue if any of this actually helped, but starting at 37 weeks (after I was off of bed rest), I started walking 2 miles every day, drinking 2 big thermoses of red raspberry leaf tea every day, and had fun times with DH as often as I could convince him to. ;) The doctor swept my membranes (as much as possible when I was only less than 1cm dilated) late in week 39. In the end, I went into labor on my due date.

I have no clue if this helped or if it was coincidence, but I had my membranes stripped the day before I went into labor, and the day of, I took a warm bath, went for a walk, had a VERY spicy meal, and took a long, hot shower. After the shower, my water broke.

I had been walking and eating spicy stuff for about a week, though, so that's why I'm not convinced any of it really helped move things along.

I tried EVERYTHING (walking, membrane sweep, DTD, herbs, acupressure, acupuncture, breast pump, any old wives tale) . Absolutely nothing helped, maybe taking primrose oil and red raspberry tablets helped my labor progress quickly. I like to think all the acupuncture made for a calm baby. I had two membrane sweeps and the second one could have worked (went into labor 12 hours later).

@runsyellowlites: I'm afraid of walking myself to death because my contractions start immediately when I start walking but the minute I stop they also stop. Ahhh! I know I need to patient, baby girl will come when she's nice and ready...but I'm SO excited. I can't believe I'm so excited about being in pain any day now, lol.

@2PeasinaPod: Sounds like my afternoon yesterday! While I was getting a pedicure she worked on those labor inducing acupressure points but nothing...lol. At least my toes look cute!

I did NOTHING! I slept as much as I could & just road out my week worths prodromal labor! lol. This is only b/c I wore myself out my first go round when I walked for almost 17 hours b/c contractions would pick up while walking but space out/die off when I stopped... I vowed to never do that again! lol
