@Rubies: I forgot about using it as a descriptive term. I totally do that.

I don't call people the b-word but I use it as an adjective. Like, "Man, that was a really b*tchy thing that she did..."

I used to use it a lot when I was younger. I stopped cursing, so I only use the B word if someone REALLY deserves it!

I don't like to curse so it is not a word that I use. A lot of people in my family use it as a term of endearment though.

I'm a combo of the first two-- I use it as a term of endearment and for jerks (depends on the context).

I hate how it is used in the title of those shows as well. It is just not necessary to me.

This word doesn't bother me, if someone called me a B, I would probably agree with them, I can have an attitude at times. If my DH called me this (he never would but if he did) I would probably just call him a name back and not take offense to it!

I don't have a visceral reaction to the word, but I do think it is thrown around a little too nonchalantly/casually. I don't like to use the word, and although I try not to be easily offended, I don't like to hear it used to describe someone, no matter how accurate the description may be.

I must confess to using the word to verbalize my frustrations when I am alone and stuck in traffic (I live in a fairly large city, and lost out-of-towners who jack up traffic because they won't commit to their navigation errors makes.me.tick!), although it is just to myself, and it is certainly not the only curse word thrown around in my car. *blush* Now that butterbean can hear me, though, I definitely try to tone it down.

As a man I find that if I use it, it is perceived as having all sort of gender-related connotations. So I don't really use it.

Two TV shows use the word in their titles this season - Don't trust the B in apt 23 and GCB.

I know it can kinda be used as a term of affection but I have to say personally I'm not a fan. I have a bit of a salty tongue at times and I do call people tom, dick and harry's, well particularly the second one of those names but I guess I just feel like the B word is just used in general for any strong woman and I've come to really dislike it's use, especially in the media.

How's everyone else feel about the B word?
