@Bluebonnet: thanks, I have the easy lunch boxes for myself. One of my boys threw his entire one into the trash one day at preschool and nobody noticed...it was an accident but I’m hesitant now!

@looch: thanks for the recommendation, price looks reasonable...I should’ve mentioned that one of my boys managed to throw away an entire Tupperware type container this year accidentally, so $30 for yum box isn’t what I had in mind!

One of these soft lunch boxes with insulation, and a small container of tupperware and a drink inside. The box takes up a ton of space, but it is very good for containing the occasional mess.

DS starts kindergarten this year so it’s the first time for me having to pack a lunch. On all our local Facebook mom groups, the yumbox and planetbox are overwhelming favourites due to being good size, easy open, easy wash and durable. I just ordered a yumbox on sale and haven’t received it yet, but that’s what I’m going to try.

We are in Canada so full day junior kinder on a balanced day schedule and my son will be among the youngest: just under 4 years old when he starts. I really want it to be easy for him without multiple containers and he can just choose what he wants. I plan to buy a lunch bag with a cold pack and then fill the yumbox and maybe a couple easy snacks outside the yumbox to grab depending on how much he eats. Might grab a thermos later if he manages ok. He isn’t really into sandwiches so I think the compartments will give him lots of options.

Not kindergarten but right now I’m packing lunch every day for camp. He’s just about to turn 4.

We were gifted a PB lunchbox. I alternate between the Bentgo Box and the sistema storage containers inside of it. If it needs to be cold I put one of these in the mesh pocket inside the lunchbox lid.

LO is going into first grade and I remember being so stressed out about packing lunches.

We have a set of Easy lunchboxes and a yumbox. Both of them go in a potter barn kids lunchbox.

I really like the Sistema containers, the clasps are easy for kids.

We still use those little gerber round bowls that we have used since forever and target Tupperware for bigger stuff. It fits ok in her PBK lunchbox.

We used a yumbox inside a packit bag (where you freeze the whole bag for an ice pack - saw it on here and it’s great!) - left room for a small after school snack in there too.

I use Tupperware lunch containers for my kindergarten girl. She can open them well and I find they’re a perfect size. I fill reusable pouches with applesauce and freeze them for an ice pack. They’re thawed by lunch.

For preschool we packed occasional lunches, but never had a dedicated box/bag. I usually just sent a small tupperware box because they could keep it in a fridge. Once the box got thrown away. Sometimes the containers were too difficult for little hands to open. What do you use?
