@Sparkler: Haha, yeah, they sure get nasty!! I make sure they dry flat every night, then throw them in bucket. I think that prevents mold/mildew - they just smell like dirty dishwater until I wash them.

Baby washcloths - 1 per kid per meal - then I lay them on top of the washer to air dry then stick in laundry basket for laundry day.

When they get gross I toss them!

We use "un-paper towels" - like cloth napkins, I guess, that I got on etsy. I use them for almost everything that I used to use paper towels for. I use a new one each time and I have a little cloth grocery bag hanging on a hook in my kitchen so the dirty ones go in there and get washed every few days. Love them!

Wash cloths. After meals DS must go into the bathroom right away for hand washing and teeth brushing in the morning or bath at night, so we just use them there.

We used to use paper towels but I felt guilty about being so wasteful so I bought washcloths at Ikea and we use one per meal. Yes, they get stained but they are only used to wipe LO's face and hands so that's okay with me.

washcloths at home - I bought a pack of about 8 at Target and I switch about every day. I bought a little towel bar that goes over a cabinet door specifically to hang them to dry. some have stains but I use them only for this anyway.

out I use wet wipes.

I do a lot of laundry, (my husband showers 3 times a day and thinks it's gross to re-use a towel - but that's a whole other issue...) so they get washed every other day or so.

I have a step stool at our sink for DD so I carry DS to the sink, put my leg on the stool, sit him on my knee, use one hand to hold him and the other to wash his hands and wipe his mouth.

@swurlygurl: That was what we were doing, and I don't mind food stains, but since we were only washing them 1-2x a week, I think some of the stains might be mold, which was why I tossed them! Considering just buying new ones because they do work better and are less wasteful. Just kind of got grossed out.

Out we use wipes. At home we mainly use paper towels, but we use sooooo many that I started feeling like that wasn't the best option. So I just started using a wash cloth. It's gross, but it actually works much better than PTs, so I just have to figure out the laundry thing. I have a stack of cheap wash cloths from Target, so I get a new one every 2-3 meals.
