It plays other things but I find them distracting. But we did have a mobile when he was little that played classical music. We both loved it! It just wasn't the same purpose as white noise. We mostly just use the white noise, but D went through a period where he was having trouble going to bed at night, and a friend suggested using the music they use at daycare. I plugged my iPod in and played some Rock-a-bye Baby music and he'd go right down. So every now and then it is nice to have the ability to plug in an iPod and play music! We also use it for dance parties sometimes. It kind of happened by accident. My husband and I sleep with a fan, so when she moved to her own room we got her one too, to keep it consistent. We also used a lot of vibration with a thing that attached to the bassinet that vibrated and played music. Long term, though? White noise. Still use it today.
