@Grace: That's exactly my tactic. It did make AF a little easier this time around.

I try to schedule something fun or productive on the day Af is set to arrive, that way I can always have something to look forward to or something to distract me. This month: hair cut. LOL

@Grace: lol @ *big fat liar* . . . that's totally how I felt. that's why I shopped. I figured I would only ever get pg after I had decided it wouldn't happen without medical intervention. it worked like a charm (on cycle 5 - last cycle before going to fertility specialist) :)

Good tips on here!! I'm in the waiting to ovulate phase which I find just as tricky. I try to keep busy as best I can! My job is very boring right now so it's hard.

So, this is cycle 6 and I'd say that for the first 4 cycles, I was not good at distracting myself at all. I'd symptom spot like crazy and I would go insane. Now that time has gone by, I've debunked almost all of my so-called pregnancy symptoms. I've decided that my body is a big fat liar and not to be trusted. I know this doesn't work for those of you that like to keep positive, but I tell myself that I'm not pregnant. That way, I don't start to go crazy until 11 or 12 dpo, and then the cycle is almost over.

I do what pp have suggested. The last TWW I had that ended in pregnancy was right before thanksgiving so I didn't even realize I was in the TWW.

I always planned out the whole 2 weeks until testing day lol. I’d make sure I had something to look forward to/planned for every day (even if it was dinner and a movie with DH or taking a picnic lunch to the park or a bikeride in the evening). I also made to do lists and it helped the time go by faster.

My last few cycles, my TWW has coincided with my busiest weeks at work, but my cycles are ~40 days, so now my TWW is falling during my least busy weeks and all I do is Google symptoms and its not good.

I just tried to keep busy, I went to dinner with friends, cooked bigger/more elaborate meals, we went for drives/walks at night, organized rooms and drawers and closets, anything to keep my mind off of counting the hours/days of when I could test.

I never did get good at this. I symptom spotted and obsessed : ) I tried to make lots of plans but then there was the stress over whether you should drink or not if you were going out and it only kept you distracted for a couple hours any way!!

What was or is your trick for making the TWW go by quickly without becoming overly obsessed?

A vacation this time worked nicely, but obviously that won't happen every time. I'm planning on starting some bigger home projects at the beginning of my TWWs, to give myself something else to focus on.
