@anonysquire: @mrs. bird: I'm with Mrs. Bird - I'd say the location of the needles depend on your specific infertility issues. I had the cold uterus diagnosis, too, and had needles in many different places.

@anonysquire: I think it depends on what they believe to be causing an imbalance in your body leading to the infertility. I went to one that specialized in fertility & was a dr of Chinese medicine and a nutritionist, so she worked on may parts of my life. She did have me chart my temps and found that I was far too cold, so her goal was to warm me up do my body could do it on it's own. Sometimes the needles were different, but usually, I'd start laying on my belly and she'd start at top my my head and work her way downward and then up the other side, putting them in my scalp, across my shoulders, my lower arms/wrists, my lower back, my lower legs/ankles, and my feet. Then I'd lay there for about 30-45 minutes and she'd take them out & flip me over and do ones down my front, between my eyebrows, near my inner elbow, my wrist near my thumb, on my belly/lower abdomen, just below my knees between them, my ankles & the arches of my feet. There were about 20 needled per side. The ones for the electro acu were over my ovaries/uterus. There are 4 leads attached to the charge box that she increase ever 5 mins or so once my body was accustom to that amount voltage.

i love acupuncture. though i don't need it right now. as for pain, getting poked in the face by my husband's stubble hurts more than acupuncture needles.

i found it to be really relaxing. i got it for lower back pain that spread down my leg. my acupuncturist would give me a brief but lovely massage before inserting the needles, so i'd be relaxed. and you can barely feel the needles going in. then she'd leave a heat lamp and blankets over me while i hung out and let the needles do their thing.

I'm totally afraid of needles, but I was more afraid of a induction and hard labor, so I tried acupuncture.

The needles didn't hurt one bit and I could barely feel most of them. Unfortunately, the acupuncture didn't help me get baby to come out!

I've had some that feel really good, like kind of puts you to sleep like you had a good yoga session, and others where it kind of pinches or hits a sharp nerve (because I was getting it for for nerves actually).

it feels goooooooood.. i think the ANTICIPATION of a needle going in is scarier than anything else, but the needle is so so thin you barely feel anything at all.. then you lay there under a hot heat lamp for 30 minutes until the doc says you're done. i turn to acupuncture FIRST before anything else if i can help it - headaches, colds, back pains, joint pain, nerve pain... i love it!

i looooove acupuncture. it got rid of my migraines when nothing else would work. it got rid of my friend's allergies and my brother's back pain. and the acupuncturist i used to see specializes in fertility. she got women pregnant after they couldn't conceive through ivf.

i feel so good after a session. i would get it regularly if a good acupuncturist were near me. it doesn't hurt -- i've had tons in my head like i was pinhead!

For me it was a little pinch for a second and then it was gone. Sometimes it would hurt but id tell them and they'd move the needle and it was fine.

It was sooooo relaxing though! I loved it. They stick you with the needles, then they'd leave a warming light on me and leave me to just lay and relax. It was amazing. Unfortunately it didn't help my migraines so I couldn't come up with a good enough excuse to keep paying all of that money since the migraines were still there....

It doesn't hurt, although I did used to get a little shock from the ones in my wrists sometimes. Actually some of the ones in my feet didn't feel nice going in. But I got pregnant, so it was worth it : )

Depends on the placement, the person, the acupuncturist, and the amount of manipulation. I've had some that I didn't feel (my scalp, my back), and others that were painful & left bruises (my fingers, inner knees, the arch of my feet always sucks for a minute). The electro acu is kind of an insane feeling! That I've only had done on the needles over my ovaries & uterus. I hate needles, really hate them, but you get used to it. Most of them aren't bothersome, but there have been a few unpleasant ones.

Compared to all the needles I was stuck with during pregnancy and labor... acupuncture doesn't even register. The needles are so thin--some are like a strand of hair-- it doesn't hurt at all. Depending on the location of the insertion you may be able to feel it slightly but within a couple of seconds it's over.

Not scary at all! Some needles I feel a tiny pinch, some I feel nothing. The only ones that hurt for more than a second or two was one between my eyes, and one in my ear. Both felt fine pretty quick though. I also make sure I don't see myself full of needles. I've actually never even seen one in.

I did acupuncture for knee, wrist, and back pain. In areas I was in pain, the needle would only pinch for a second...and there were some areas that I didn't even realize had a needle in until I tried to move.

It's a little pinch, and then nothing. If it still hurts after 2 seconds, you can ask them to spin the needle and it goes away. I wouldn't consider it painful or stressful. Knowing Im about to get poked doesn't make me tense up or anything.

I have had one needle stuck in me out of curiosity (I have a family member who does acupuncture) and couldn't even feel it! I couldn't think of any ailments so he just stuck one in my hand, but several of my cousins had it done at the same time in other places and no one complained!
