@littlek: thanks for checking in on me! It turns out that it wasn't my month, despite all the symptoms. It's ok because we're going to put TTC off until next year so we're a little more prepared.

Ladies ... Today feels like a hangover. It's the first morning sickness I've had (6w, 6d). I thought for the last few weeks that I could skirt by with just food aversions. This is awful. Did your morning sickness get worse as the weeks went on? (ie: today, I haven't vomited, but I feel very nauseas) ... curious if it comes in like a lamb before roaring like a puking lion! ;)

I was horribly, miserably, intolerably sick from 5.5 to 18 weeks. Completely helpless. I felt extreme nausea, when not actually throwing up, I was on the verge of throwing up, 24/7. The nausea never abated even for a second, not even for a minute after throwing up. Nothing I did could take my mind off of how awful I felt. If I tried to move around too much I got dizzy, light-headed, my vision blacked out, I got covered in sweat, shook, and started vomiting. I cried a lot. Slept a lot to avoid feeling the sickness. Only lost weight until 20ish weeks (and I didn't have any to lose to start with). Never felt hungry and had to force-feed myself things like Ensure, just to get some calories that didn't hurt if they came back up. The taste of water made me throw up, so I had to "spike" it with cranberry juice to make it somewhat tolerable. People mentioning any kind of food sent me running to the bathroom, even pictures or commercials of food made me sick. I actually got furious if anyone said the word "hotdog" in my presence! (Not that I was around people often, since I often felt too sick to even shower and make myself somewhat presentable. Just the thought of trying to dry my hair made me cry.) I tried Zofran for about a week, but it didn't do anything except back my system up. You know what? ALL worth it.

It is very different for everyone. For me it didn't start until around 8 weeks and at 26 weeks it is still here (not as bad but I can't go anywhere without Zofran with me). I am not typical though. For me it felt like I was just, well, queasy no matter what I ate/didn't eat. And EVERYTHING came up in the beginning. Morning sickness is no joke.

For me this time it started super early, like before 4 weeks. I haven't thrown up yet but I feel like i'm on the verge 24/7. I feel sick if I'm hungry, then as soon as I eat something I feel worse, but still hungry.

I don't know what being hungover is like (I don't drink) but if this is anything like it I'm glad I don't drink!!!

Umm... it felt like being hungover every minute of every day for 9 months. It was very draining, and also makes me never want to drink too much ever again in my entire life. Count yourself lucky if you never have to experience it!

With my first it started at 4.5 weeks and just felt like a constant upset stomach. I had to eat frequently or my stomach would rebel. It lasted until about 14 weeks. With my current pregnancy it started at 5 weeks and was a constant low lying nausea that lasted all day long. Nothing sounded good but carbs did help a little. I'm 12 weeks now and I still can't wait too long to eat in the morning or it starts and I can't go a long time (more than 2 hours) without eating something... Even if its just something small. I threw up every morning for weeks 5-14 with #1 and I only threw up 6-8 weeks with #2.

@mediagirl: Pry away! :-) I'm just "hiding" here because I'm an active member but I'm not ready to out myself just in case this turns out to be nothing lol. We were hoping to wait a couple more months before really TTC. So, we weren't trying, but we weren't entirely preventing (pull out method).

This is my second pregnancy and I'm just shy of 9 weeks. (I had virtually no morning sickness with baby #1). The hungover feeling started around 4 weeks. While I haven't actually thrown up yet, I have felt like I shouldn't stray far from home on some days. Also, nothing sounds good to eat unless it is bread/carbs. I've felt better the last 2-3 days, so I'm hoping that this morning sickness phase is on it's way out!

I didn't read the comments, but mine started 6 weeks on the dot. It was the constant mouth-watering, about to vomit RIGHTNOWOMG. It was awful. I only avoided it when I was stuffing my face with carbs. Mine lasted my entire pregnancy, and was definitely not only in the morning - was usually worse afternoon/night :(

It started at 5 weeks - I just felt hungover, minus the fun. Food didn't sound good, taste good, or smell good. When I was able to choke down food, it didn't sit well in my stomach and I had to fight the urge to vomit. I did a lot of dry heaving and some vomiting. I also had to take prescription anti nausea meds.

My MS started around six-seven weeks? I was sick in the mornings, alright during the day, and then would get sick from about 4 PM on. It felt like I was incapable of functioning normally.

I threw up multiple times a day. Brushing my teeth definitely made me sick in the mornings but a male colleague gave me a tip his wife used to help that - hum while you brush your teeth. It helps a bit. Absolutely nothing sounded appealing to me except for cinnamon rolls, French fries, saltines, and occasionally mashed potatoes. It went away slowly and was completely gone around 15 weeks.

In my case it was an intense feeling of a hangover, but like the worst hangover of your life (and I did some crazy University binge drinking), and vomiting at the sight/sound/smell/thought of random things several times per day.

I had hyper emesis though, and couldn't function without a combination of 4 prescription meds.

ETA: It started at 4 weeks gestation.

Mine started around 6 weeks and was pretty intense. I threw up every. single. morning. when I brushed my teeth. I had horrible food aversions and felt nauseous every time I ate. I also felt really nauseous if I didn't eat frequently enough. It was brutal! Smells were also unbearable. I made DH take all the food out of the fridge because I couldn't stand "refrigerator smell.". Lol. We lived like frat boys for weeks!

Awful, awful nausea and vomiting for me. It started at about 6.5 weeks and lasted through 16/17 weeks with occasional nausea striking in the morning hours through 20-ish weeks. I also had this empty feeling in my stomach a lot too...hard to describe, but it was uncomfortable, and pretty darn annoying. I couldn't stand the sight of certain foods, let alone smells.

Mine started right at 6 weeks and like others said, it was like a 3 month long hangover, without ever going out and having fun. Feeling nauseous all the time, but I never actually threw up. I gagged and dry heaved every time I brushed my teeth. I had lots of food aversions and basically only wanted the most processed options available-- like, no fresh grilled chicken breast, I only wanted chicken fingers. And smells... god, the smells. That and I was exhausted all the time.

Thank god, the nausea went away between 13 and 14 weeks and the extreme exhaustion a few weeks after that. Now time is flying by!

My previous pregnancy ended somewhat early, around 7-9 weeks but since week 5 (or even earlier) I was feeling nauseated most of the day and had to have some crackers in the morning for my commute to settle my stomach.

This time around I'm 5w2d and I just started feeling some nausea today after lunch. I'm feeling extra exhausted though, so that could be what's making me more sensitive. To curb some nausea, I've been taking a B6 with my pre-natal. Hopefuly this works out for me! I can't stand throwing up!

Like a constant hangover or the flu that never ends. I personally haven't thrown up (dry heaved a ton) but always feel as though I want to barf. Certain foods are absolutely repulsive & others I must have immediately. It started at 5 weeks for me and hasn't gone away at almost three months. Overall, in a word, miserable.
