She likes it, we like it. Different strokes for different folks. I think we've avoided a fair amount of mealtime battles because she can't get out and run around. We also get a highchair for both our girls in restaurants, for the same reason. Boosters slide around too much and high chairs keep them in one place. He has been sitting with us on grown up chairs with grown up ceramic plates and utensils (sans knives of course ;-)) since 3. Booster available upon request. I don't really like him sitting without it (which we do at restaurants) because he's always on and off the chair then. At restaurants though, we don't necessarily always do the same thing. Sometimes she's still in a high chair, sometimes a booster, sometimes the normal chair or booth. She is very small for her age so it depends on the height of the chair and table, and her mood too (of course). She rejected the high chair and booster around the time she turned 2. He doesn't sit in a high chair at restaurants and also refuses boosters, but at home he always sits in his high chair unless we have friends with a baby visiting then he lets them use it. He's 3 and loved that thing! He knew to climb in and ask for his tray when it was meal times, we didn't even have to ask him! We'd just say, let's go eat and in he went. At public places, he'd ask for the high chair. When we tried to wean him from it because baby sister was on the way, he would get upset if there was no high chair at the table for him. Now, he's mostly sitting at the table in his own chair, but will occasionally ask for a high chair still. He's on the small end of the growth spectrum, but he topples out of the booster if he sits too far forward. And if he sits all the way back, he can't reach the table well. So regular chair on his knees or on his bottom while we help him. Wouldn't sit in at all. She sits in the regular chair with a booster most nights.
