She comes every other week and does bathrooms, kitchen, all floors, dusting, mirrors. We tidy before she comes. I don’t want to pay someone to pick up and put away my things, I just want the actual cleaning that we struggle to get to done. She doesn’t do bedding, laundry, organizing, anything like that. We also have a pretty large house with four bathrooms so the things she does do take the whole time.

We have two people come every other week. I wish I could afford every week, but we can't.

Our place is about 800 sq. ft. Takes them 1.5 - 2 hrs. We tidy up by putting our stuff away before they get here so it's easy for them to do their job.

They do all the floors (vacuum & mop), change the sheets on the beds & make them, do the bathroom, clean all counters, do a light clean inside closets, refrigerator, etc., clean blinds, dust, clean ceiling fans.

My DH resisted for the longest time. As soon as they came once, he didn't know how we lived w/o it. We both work FT so it's a huge relief to have major cleaning off our plate.

We just started biweekly cleaning. They come for 3.5 hours and do a big standard checklist: sinks, counters, dust, mop, vacuuming, make beds, tidy small items on counters. Like they stack books tidily. We clear the clutter before they come aka throw everything into bins and shove it in the bookcase. We can request extra jobs like baseboards, oven cleaning, etc. But they ask for more time to complete that. So far the first cleaning was awesome, the second was so so. It’s a large company and not guaranteed the same person comes every time but they give a credit if you’re not happy.

Tbh I would love to do it weekly. By the time 2 weeks roll around, it’s definitely time. I’m trying to let my standards go in between so I don’t have to do much since we are both back to working full time. I’ll wipe the counters, rinse sinks, sweep, vacuum maybe once but I save the scrubbing for them.

ETA: bathrooms and kitchen alone is worth it IMO and makes me more likely to tidy the other crap myself each night after the kids are asleep.

I have a woman come every other week. We live in about 1400 sq ft 3/2 She spends about three hours

I start the sheets and towels in the washer when I walk out the door

She makes all beds, fully cleans top to bottom to include the fridge, windows, moves furniture to clean behind and under stuff etc. Bathrooms, mopping, dusting, tidies up, arranges stuff like I live in a hotel lol (like, the bathmat is rolled, my kids lovies are arranged and folded, my nightstand and vanity are organized etc). She reorganizes stuff, but we live in a relatively small space with two kids so she’s not sure where stuff “lives” most of the time but she tries her best.

I’d spend the money over and over and over again.

For my friends with larger homes, they have to specify what they want their cleaner to focus on, as a full deep clean over several thousand sq ft with only one person becomes unrealistic. So, focus on living spaces every visit and clean bathrooms, and then other visits perhaps do a deep clean of bedrooms etc.

@DesertDreams88: I have 3 ppl cleaning our home once a month or every other month.

Depends honestly what is going on. They don’t have a key. I let them in and let them out.

Floors, bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting in all rooms. Kitchen.

It’s so nice to have . It helps me out a lot

Curious as to what's in the job description and what's not. Also, what's the regularity/schedule.

Really I'd love it if I could just shove all the misplaced items into 2-3 boxes and a cleaner could just put them back where they belong, haha 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
