We have a new routine now and she LOVES it--they have a little loft that they don't open to the kids very often that has windows to the outside of the building (you can't see out the windows from a normal height), but the teachers will take a lo up there to do a special "window goodbye," so she waves out the window while I wave from the street. Now when I say bye to her in the classroom and give her a hug/kiss, she runs to the loft entrance and asks for "stairs?" to go up to the window

It varies. Last week she was very clingy and cried when I tried to leave. Since we switched schools last year she doesn't run and start playing. Usually I get her signed in then take her outside where she'll start an activity or her teacher will lead her in an activity so I can leave.

It's 50/50 cries vs. happily waves. The crying only started when I got pregnant. :(

My son is dropped off in a different room than he spends his days, because when we drop him off (usually around 7) there aren't any other toddlers there. So he usually plays in the toddler room by himself for a few minutes and then goes to the preschool room - on a good day he walks on his own and starts playing, on a bad day he gets carried and handed over to one of the daycare teachers. He doesn't usually cry, but he's clearly not thrilled about it.

However my neighbour told me the other day that loves dropping his son off (same age, same class) because my son always is running around playing and gets shriekingly happy to see his friend arrive, which makes me feel like he probably rallies quickly.

DS is usually asleep when I hand him off. We do early drop off between 6:30am and 6:45am. On days I don't have to be at work till much later, he'll usually walk right in.

He gets his card to give to his teacher, hangs up his jacket, washes his hands, kisses/hugs me goodbye, then runs to the window to wave at me when I leave. The only time he cries is when I've been delayed getting out of the building, then he cries because he thinks he missed me.

On the off-chance I need to drop him off in a different classroom without a window he kisses me goodbye then starts playing. I don't think he even noticed me leave this morning.
