Bath- she reads bath books and plays with her toys. Then DH takes her out and they make silly faces in the mirror. DH puts her diaper and pj's on while I turn on the fan, night light, and get her toothbrush ready and I get her milk. We brush her hair, and then DH and I take turns every night putting her to sleep. Whoever doesn't do bed time washes her dishes. We'll sit on the glider and rock, she'll drink her milk and then brush her teeth while I sing. Now she has been asking for bah bah black sheep. Then I put her in the crib and say night night, love you.

Ha. It used to all be so calm like that. Now I am constantly running back and forth between the baby and the toddler. Eh, somehow I manage to get everyone asleep by 7 with things in no particular order!

Ours is really simple. Bath time riles her up, so we separate it from bed time. Bed time is PJs, sleep sheep and nursing. Lights out, then rocked in arms for prayers and one song. Put down awake.

When did you start this routine? And did you try different things before you found what worked?

6pm - bath
-After bath - Pj's, noise machine and nurse
-3 books
-Lights out
-3 songs and some rocking
-A kiss from me, a kiss from Dad and into the crib she goes by 6:30-6:45pm.

I find it amazing how quickly she settles as soon as that light goes off and we start singing. I attribute her bed time and no fussiness at bedtime to this routine that we NEVER mess with.
