DD will be 6 months in 2 weeks. She takes 3-5 20-30 minute naps per day. Ugh. I really wish they would consolidate and get longer so that I could get things done!

DS is at 6 mos now and has been taking 2 naps for about 2 months. We aim to get him down after he's been up about 2 hours so occasionally he gets 3 and occasionally just 1 if the timing doesn't quite work out :( My first DS was about 10 mos before he went from 3->2 naps.

At 6 months we went to a 2 nap schedule with naps at 10 and 2/2.30, which was roughly a 3-3-3 schedule.

We do a 2-2.5-3 schedule. It depends on when she wakes up & the length of her naps. She has been taking monster naps lately, 2-2 1/2 hrs. A typical day might be:

6:30am- wakeup
8:30am-11am- nap
1:30-3:30pm- nap
6:30pm- bedtime

We struggle because she still can't go more than 3 hours awake without getting overtired, but she does better with a 7/7:30 bedtime. I am so happy she takes long naps but that means there is no chance to take a third catnap, so we just do an early bedtime. I am hoping she will stretch her awake time soon & we can do bedtime a little later. On the days I push her to stay awake longer she is a cranky mess but then usually sleeps better.

At 6 months we introduced the 2-3-4 schedule. For the first few weeks she still needed the third short nap around 430/5 pm. By 7 months she was on two good naps a day. At 9 months our schedule has basically stayed the same.
7:00 wake up
9-11:00 nap
2-3:30 nap
7:00 bedtime

Around 6.5 months she went to 2 naps and then it became a predictable 10 and 2 nap time. She's 8 months now and it's moved to 10/10:30 and 2:30/3.

At 6 months it was basically how it is now at 7 months.

Up between 5:30 and 6:30. Nap around 8:30/9. Nap around 12. Nap around 2. The last two naps are crap naps and as of this week he's only napped from 9:30-11 and then 1:30-2:30

LO is 6.5 months and I put her down for naps 2 hours after she wakes up from the last one which means she takes 3-4 naps a day. She usually only naps for 30-45 min. I'm praying that she will start napping longer soon.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Amazingly, yes! Were on night 9 of CIO and it's going well. She goes down around 6:30 and she'll still cry between 8ish (our lowest so far) and 20ish minutes when I put her down, but is pretty much out until 1 or 2 to nurse (she's occasionally woken around 10, but has settled herself back to sleep after a few minutes if complaining), then back down until anywhere from 4:30-5:30. I'm going to work on the early wakeups once we have a few weeks of this under our belts.

My LO transitioned to 2 naps around 6 months. Her schedule was (and still is):

8am: Wake for the day
9:30/10am: Nap for 1.5-2hrs
2/2:30pm: Nap for 1.5-2hrs
7pm: Bedtime

7 months and no real schedule... The vast majority of the time, we are still on 3 naps (although today she would only nap for 20 mins at a time, so I think she took four ... I honestly lost track)

She can stay awake for 2 - 2 1/2 hours , a little longer before bedtime, so her naps just revolve around that.

B never had consistent naps at 6 months. She rarely napped at all and never for more than say 40 mins. She got a consistent schedule around 8 months. She currently ( well, I think we're getting back on track after some issues ) naps from about 930-1130 and 130-330. The second nap can be hit or miss and sometimes longer or shorter.

Haahahah. Schedule. Yeah right.

Her first one is usually about 2 hours after she wakes up. Then she'll go between an hour and a half and 2 hours the rest of the day. She usually only naps for about 30-45 minutes at a time, and the time she wakes up every day is always different, so there's no semblance of a schedule...at all. She'll ocassionally take 1.5-2 hour naps if I let her fall asleep at my boobs.

I think we're nap training next week in hopes of getting her napping in the crib for (hopefully) longer intervals.

My 8 month old still takes 3 naps a day (sometimes 4 if one is a car "nap" she just doesn't rest well in the car). She has JUST started being more consistent this week, I kid you not. I think she could do 2 naps if her first morning nap would stretch beyond 40 minutes! At 6 months she went down anywhere between an hour to two hours after waking & every 2.5 to 3 hours after that. Now she takes a nap 2.5 hours after waking, then 3 hours after waking & then usually another 2 & goes to bed at 7 regardless of how late she naps. She is a stickler for her bedtime. She still wakes to nurse anywhere between 1 & 3 times a night & gets up for the day anywhere between 6 & 8. I know that may not give you much hope but I feel she is much more manageable now than she was at 6 months.

My LO is still really fussy and unpredictable, so I can't say we are on a schedule.

She generally takes three naps a day, with the first one being only an hour (sometimes two) after she wakes up.

When did they transition to two naps a day?
