I drove a small Honda Insight, and he drove a Jeep Compass. Now then I am expecting again and another LO on the way and having 2 car seats. We didn't have enough room for all soon to be 3 kids. Somehow we manage, and we don't plan on buying a new car until one of them breaks down beyond repair. I do the 99% of the kid-carting during the week, though, so his car doesn't have to be particularly family friendly. We both shared our cars on any day of the week. Then my Lexus Suv starting having problems that only DH knew how to start consistently so he drove that for another year until it got really bad. We are going to look into getting an off lease truck at the end of the year. Finding a vehicle to his 6'4" frame and two RF seats (planning on TTC for #2 when DD is 13 months) has been a challenge. He does day care drop off and the two car seats are fine in his car for short trips. It's not super comfortable with all four of us in there, but doable. We just took it to swim lessons and to run a couple errands and it's no issue for short outings like that. I drive a Honda Pilot and that's what we take for longer trips with all four of us. I like having a big family car, and also have a nicer sedan for things like date nights. It's a good balance for us.</p> <p>ETA my husband is 6'6" so if we can make it work in a sedan I think most people can. Loud alarms for everything (sensor alarms if you get within 1-2 feet of anything with the car, so fun times for city driving and parking!), the All-Road wouldn’t let you drive for more than 2 hours straight without sounding an alarm that you should pull over and rest. After 4 hours of driving it would non-stop sound the “rest” alarm until you shut the car off, waited at least 15 minutes and then started it back up. Like, WTF Audi. I’ll determine when I need to take a break from driving, thankyouverymuch!</p> <p>Incredibly expensive to repair, and both our Audi and both Audis my uncle has had needed a lot of repairs. For comparison, I had a Toyota 4Runner that was the same model year as my husband’s Audi. In 3 years he had taken his in literally countless times, while mine had never needed to be repaired. DH primarily drives the sedan but we switch when the occasion calls for it.
