Combination of 2-3 of the below:

Hard boiled egg, fried egg, sweet potato zucchini blue berries banana pancakes (I batch made and freeze them), frozen waffles or toast with peanut butter and a tiny bit of jam, (I know peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a lunch thing in the US culture, but our school is peanut-free so breakfast is the only time I can give him some peanut butter, which has protein :)), yogurt, cheese cubes, and any kind of fruit.... If he gets sick of one I switch to another the next morning....

LO leaves for daycare by 6 am each morning, so she gets a glass of whole milk and cereal (she's on a frosted mini wheats kick right now). She has a second breakfast at daycare.

@sunny: Bob's Red mill! Most grocery stores carry it but I get it from Amazon s&s. I usually cook 1.25 cup oats to about 2-3 cups liquid. I use a mixture of water and milk. Just keep stirring with a whisk on low. Takes about 15? I add more liquid as needed. LO likes hers with berries and craisins. I've also taken to adding a tablespoon of peanut butter for extra protein. Or sometimes I stir in plain Greek yogurt after I dish it out.

This makes enough for DH, LO and I. But DH isn't a huge oatmeal fan so he only half a bowl.

@sunny: I only cook steel cut oats. They take way too long for weekday mornings but I discovered "quick" steel cut oats and they cook in half the time and even quicker if you pre-soak overnight! Never bought baby oatmeal for LO. I use to grind steel cut oats into a powder in a coffee grinder when she was a baby.

lately it's been blueberry pancake (comes frozen, this mama does not make pancakes from scratch on a weekday...or the weekends for that matter) and some low-acid fruit, like banana or mango. can't do high acid fruit because we think it causes him to throw up in the car on the way to daycare.

@sunny: she eats regular oatmeal. Maybe try making the eggs different ways and see how she does. C loves the steamed egg recipe that Mrs. Bee posted. I think she likes eating it off of a soon and she calls it egg soup

http://www.hellobee.com/2013/04/03/steamed-egg/

And lately she will only eat egg whites if I fry an egg...but at least the whites have protein. I've tried making a flat omelet and putting cheese and rolling up to make pinwheels but she does not like them like I thought she would. Or maybe try hard boiled like others have

Thanks for all the great ideas. I wish LO would eat eggs but she just isn't into it. I love eggs and make scrambled eggs with cheese for myself but she always refuses to eat it! DH suggested that the texture is the problem so I was going to try cooking them a bit longer this weekend.

For those who do oatmeal, are you buying baby oatmeal or regular?

Steel cut oats with flax meal, breakfast sausage, and fruit. It's been his staple for the past 2 years, and he hasn't gotten tired of it yet. Occasionally on weekends I'll make special banana and oats pancakes for him. I've also tried to give him avocado with some success but mostly failure. Eggs would be on the menu if he didn't have an allergy.
