Having learned to drive in the large city there was the unwritten rule that you do NOT stop at a yellow light, not if you don't want to get rear-ended anyways. I shared this with new friends and they found it quite amusing that I would "run" the light. When we went to leave the restaurant we were at it was really late and the traffic lights were already "off", so my friend looked over at me and said, "Oh look you can run yellow lights all the way home".
