She's turning two in December, but I'm nervous about starting to let her watch anything! I think we'll start with Daniel Tiger, since it sounds like it's pretty solid! Lots of life lessons, repetition and songs that have been really helpful to reinforce ideas "you gotta try new food because it might taste goood", "try to solve the problem yourself and you'll feel proud" etc. </p> <p>We don't have cable either but the pbskids.org website lets you stream the last 4 weeks of episodes so you can do it on your own time. I don't love the animation and it's kind of meh as an adult, but the stuff it teaches little ones is amazing and fantastic. The only thing she really likes is football! She watches that with DH on the weekends. </p> <p>But now that she's approaching two, I'm interested in exposing her to some programming designed for her age group and see if she finds some interest in it. But I'm hoping it will have some good life lessons and whatnot in it. I don't want her to be dependent on it, though! I'm nervous to start offering it to her. Any advice on that front?</p> <p>I hear a lot of Daniel Tiger and Dora the Explorer. Are those good? Bonus points if it is available on Netflix or You Tube since we don't have cable. </p>
