C was (is) a rockstar sleeper so I was not anticipating any issues. But at 12 months she was old enough to know she was in a new place (hotel room) but not old enough to really explain what was happening. She didn't do well sharing our room with us and was up basically the entire night every.single.night. I couldn't let her CIO because I felt bad for our hotel neighbors. </p> <p>She would then crash and nap during the day in her stroller when we were out and about. Luckily we had my mom and sisters with us so we could get SOME sleep but honestly it was just miserable and so much work. It would have been infinitely easier to stay home.</p> <p>That being said, if we didn't have the sleep issues we would have had an okay time. Packed flights, baby wouldn't sleep on the plane, 3 hour time difference, it was unseasonably hot in Maui when we went, he got roseola that was misdiagnosed at the ER as an ear infection, he was still on 2 naps and didn't do stroller naps, you just can't DO much with a kid that age and they can't be out in the sun that long so it was frustrating, especially because my parents had never been to Hawaii before. We didn't have a choice, it was for my BF's wedding, but it was so so hard.
