My DD had eczema while she was nursing and then it disappeared. She reacted to eggs when she started them at 6 months so I tend to think her eczema was related to eggs in my BM.

My son reacts to certain spices. His face gets a little red whenever the spice makes contact with his skin. The first time it happened was while eating hummus, and I thought it was an allergy, but he's since had plain chickpeas with no problems. His dr was unconcerned so we just try to wipe his face often if he's eating something that will cause redness (hummus, cinnamon in his oatmeal, barbecue sauce, etc)

One LO gets eczema from wheat. It took many months to figure out because he really needed to not have any for a few weeks before it cleared up.

Both my kids had eczema as infants. They were breastfed and I was consuming the item they are allergic to (milk for Xander, peanuts for Logan). It's possible that was the cause of the eczema, as Xander's has gotten better since he's been off breast milk, but he still does have it in spots. I think some kinds are just more prone to it than others. They both have food allergies and asthma, so it's all related.

DS had a slight reaction to yogurt. He has/had mild eczema too and it flared up right away with red blotches, but it quickly (30 mins?) went away. It happened twice but since then, he's been fine. His eczema now is pretty much under control.

My LO had a skin reaction to Savra brand hummus, where it had gotten all over her face. All other brands she is fine with so I just stopped buying that one. The ped said to keep giving it since it was one of her only proteins and just wipe her face quickly if it kept happening.

The first time I gave my DD bit of salmon she got some redness on her cheek that cleared up quickly. We haven't tried salmon since. Also the first time she tried hummus she had a bit of a reaction but has had hummus since without a problem.

As I mentioned in another post, my 9 month old is suffering from extreme eczema, our doctor says some of it might be food related, but that I should not change her diet at this time. That because it's a "slight" reaction introducing these foods will help her develop a tolerance. (same thing they told me with our oldest.) It freaks me out but i haven't been able to pinpoint what is causing flareups either, what foods did it for you? Was it the obvious milk/eggs or was it a veggie/fruit?
